The technician showed up, realized he didn't have the brand part, and said he'd show up the same afternoon between 3-5 pm to finish the job. He said it needed to be done because it was a "safety issue." Well, he never came back that same day, and only called later that night to say he had other "emergency" calls. So, apparently our safety issue wasn't that pressing. Then, we agreed to make ourselves available for a third time slot for him to finish the job...the following morning. He showed up late, closed up our attic while leaving the attic light on, and left the metal cover off the furnace's controller switches. Just now, I discovered the light on up there and the cover left unattached. If I hadn't poked my head up there, we would have gotten some fattened electric bills in the future. It remains to be seen how well the new switch works. The two visits were a combined single hour of labor, which cost us $200.
