Terrible from beginning to end. He was overcharging me, refusing to negotiate about the work being done, adding on costs without my approval and not in the contract and did terrible work. The plumbing, electrical and framing all had to be redone. The framing was never nailed into the concrete floor foundation! The line set for the air conditioning was put in wrong and was broken as well as filled with debris which contaminated the condenser. He made decisions which changed the architect's plans without my understanding. He put in a sump pump then buried it underground so that it has to be dug out again to be used. He put in closets which were way too small for their purpose, such as HVAC and washer/dryer. He didn't finish work he was paid to do. His workers broke my alarm as well as household items and did not fix them nor agree to pay for damage. He promised to protect my storage area then allowed it to be flooded. He charged me to put in a shower drain and never did it.
Description of Work: They started a remodel on my kitchen and basement, but I had to fire them because he wanted 4 times more than the original estimate and he was dishonest.

WE WONDER WHY THIS PARTY DID NOT GIVE US THE CHANCE TO EXPLAIN OUR PROCESS TO THE NEW CONTRACTORS OR FURTHER THE COMPLETION OF A PROJECT WE WERE ASKED TO STOP WORK ON BECAUSE OF LACK OF FUNDING. ANY TIME SOMEONE IS ASKED TO PICK UP WHERE ANOTHER LEFT OFF CREATES A OPPORTUNITY FOR THE NEW CONTRACTOR TO JUSTIFY ACTIONS AT THE EXPENSE OF THE PREVIOUS ONE. I AM CONFIDENT THE CONCEPT OF PAYING FOR SOMETHING TWICE IS A DERIVATIVE OF THIS. FUGINA CONSTRUCTION WRITES COMPREHENSIVE DETAILED CONTRACTS OF EVERY PHASE AND/OR CATEGORY OF WORK BEFORE WORK BEGINS AND GIVES DETAILED EXPLANATIONS AS BILLING CYCLES CONCUR. TECHNICAL TERMINOLOGY AND PROCESSES UNFAMILIAR TO A HOMEOWNER ARE AT THE FOREFRONT OF DISCUSSION. WE SPEND AS MUCH TIME AS THE CUSTOMER NEEDS, RE-EVALUATE A PRICE IF NECESSARY, OR GIVE THE OPTION TO NOT PAY THAT PORTION OF THE BILL UNTIL THEY DO UNDERSTAND IT. WE NEVER BILL FOR ANYTHING WHICH CANNOT BE POINTED TO OR PHYSICALLY PROVEN TO EXIST. ALL REMODELS HAVE THINGS WHICH COME UP.
