A. J. came to our house and gave a free estimate. That included examining the system, spotting some loose wires and testing some valves. He estimated the job would take two to four hours at $45 per hour, plus materials. The job actually took 8 hours and was completed in one day. I bought $37 worth of materials (I think he got me a contractor's price on these, but I'm not sure), and he also supplied some materials for which he charged me $12. I was pleased with the quality of the work he did, but a bit concerned that his estimate was so far off.
