The work they performed was fabulous. They were very responsive. They showed up on time. The people were very courteous. They did a great installation. They were also very informative of what they were going to do and how they were going to do it.

Sales person came out very quickly, was personable and knowledgeable, didn't try to "up sell" us into anything we didn't need. He took the time to measure the square footage, look at the layout, and make sure his estimate was accurate, which is more than the other company that had quoted the job did. Even though the quotes were very comparable, we felt much more confident in the Energy King package, overall. The quote included a discount for the PG&E rebate, so we didn't have to deal with that directly. Crew came out the next week and expected to take 2 days to finish. Instead, they all stayed until about 7:30 that evening in order to finish it up for us in one day. They were friendly, professional, and efficient. When they were done, they did a thorough job of cleaning up. Job passed city inspection first time, and system has worked beautifully. I would highly recommend Energy King and would use them again.

Joe, the salesman, said the air quality would improve 300 to 400% with new filters. During installation we learned they were the washable filters we already had. He also said the SEER rating on the old equipment was 5 and the new ones would be 12 or 13. Our monthly savings would be substantial. The new system works well but there has not been much of a savings. Definitely not enough to cover payment on the SMUD loan. On the 1st day of installation it was foggy and wet. I met the employee in our driveway with booties on over his shoes getting the booties dirty and wet before he went inside. They did not cover clothes in our MB closet where the attic access is and got insulation on the clothes. They put the twice as big package unit on the same concrete pad the much smaller unit had been on and stacked rocks from our landscaping to support the end of it. I had to have them remove it and then pour a concrete pad myself. There was debris left laying around after they left.

Steve Benefield was very professional. He put plastic footwear on prior to entering my home. He was specific about the problems with our central heat and air. He was efficient and was able to educate me on pertinent information. I really enjoyed the fact that a decision did not need to be made right then. He simply gave the information and put the ball on my court. He was not persistent on what he thought was appropriate or what I should do. He gave me options and that's exactly what I want.

The service man was on time and technically performed his job, however, I was charged much more than I thought reasonable for this job. I was charged $89 for the initial diagnostic and $89 more to determine that the existing thermosat was putting out only 19 volts to the heat pump reversing valve when 24 volts were required. He installed a new thermostat for $203. Total charge $381. I estimate the thermostat cost about $81 based on Lowes prices. So I was charged $300 for about 2 hours of labor. I found their method of calculating charges using a price list to be very confusing and I did not realize how high the total cost would be until it was added up at the end. When I complained, the serviceman implied I could expect high charges because I tried to install a thermostat myself instead of hiring a contractor.

The tech was punctual and very polite. He also sold my husband an Energy King plan costing $14.95 per month, which I'm not sure is a good deal. Time will tell. The plan covers 1 AC inspection in spring, 1 heater inspection in fall, 25% discount on parts, and 24/7 service if you have a problem.

THEY DO GOOD WORK. THEY HAVE BEEN TAKING CARE OF MY HEATING AND COOLING NEEDS FOR YEARS NOW. THEY SEEM TO HAVE HONEST PEOPLE WORKING FOR THEM. THE PRICE SEEMS VERY FAIR.

THEY WERE AN EXCELLENT COMPANY. THEY DID QUALITY WORK. THEY HAD THE JOB DONE FASTER THAN WHAT I THOUGHT THEY WOULD. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.

I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THEM. THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. THEY SAID IT WOULD ONLY TAKE THEM TWO DAYS TO GET THE JOB DONE AND IT DID. I FEEL THEIR PRICE WAS GOOD FOR THE QUALITY OF WORK THEY DID.

THEY ARE A GREAT COMPANY. THEY WORK QUICKLY, AND THE QUALITY IS ALWAYS INCREDIBLE. THIS COMPANY HAS ALWAYS IMPRESSED ME WITH THEIR TERRIFIC WORK ETHIC.

THE COMPANY CAME OUT THE WEEK I CALLED THEM. THEY GOT THE JOB DONE IN A TIMELY FASHION. THEY WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND INFORMATIVE PEOPLE. THEY TOOK THE TIME TO EXPLAIN WHAT THEY WERE DOING.
