The best indicator of how satisfied you are with a company's work is when you would have them back again, which I definitely will. The supervisor/estimator came out to the house to view the tree and find out what I had in mind. He made good suggestions and clarified any questions I had. The crew were a great group of guys. I was totally pleased with the finished job.

We called Don's Tree Service for an estimate on the above work. Jon came out right away and gave us a very fair estimate. The fellows from the service came a few days later - were prompt and did a great job on trimming and pruning a very large orange tree and three mature camilla trees. They worked quicky and the trees look great. We will certainly use Don's Tree Service when we need work like this in the future.

They are knowledgeable about how to perform work to keep tree healthy. Arrived on time on the date of job and finished within 3 hours. Did a good job and also helped shape a small orange tree nearby. Price is half of quote from another company.

Estimator was punctual for pricing appointment. Crew showed up early on appointed date and had the tree down and the stump ground in about 1-1/4 houres. Very fast and efficient.

The crew was prompt, on time and very polite. Jon, the operation's manager, was eager to work around my schedule for the work to be done. The only negative is that he can be difficult to reach because he only returns calls in the evening and a message must be left for him during the day.

We got this recommendation through Angie's list and they live up to all the good things others have said about them. Punctual, efficient and responsive, they did just what I told them to do and helped me figure out the best courses of action on each work item.

John and I finally connected after a few days of telephone tag (mostly my fault), and we decided that he would complete the estimate on his own and leave it in our mailbox. The estimate to remove each backyard tree (both about 20-25 feet tall and right next to my neighbor's garage) was around $250 each, which included stump grinding. The estimate for the front yard tree near the same size was around $500 since it needs a city permit. We thought the estimate was a very good price and decided to schedule an appointment for one of the backyard trees to be removed. On 4/30/11 the first crew came an hour early. All 4 workers were very nice, polite and professional, and got to work immediately. They all worked together to cut the branches, remove them, grind them and clean up. It took them exactly one hour to complete their portion, and said the next crew would come later to grind the stump. The second crew came 1/2 hour later and was equally as nice and professional as the first crew. When it was time to pay, I asked about the Angie's List discount and he kindly reduced the price by 10%. I'm so happy we found Don's Tree Service on Angie's List, and will definitely use them again in the near future, and will recommend them to our friends and neighbors!!

Everything they did was excellent. The way the guy came out and studied what needed to be done along with me. I had them trim a huge olive tree. They did a real good job with that. I would use them in the future.

They were excellent. I think I could have beaten the price. They showed up right on time and completed the work in the timeframe. I was satisfied with their work. I will probably use them again because the tree going to have to come down in 4 or 5 years.

It took a couple of messages to set up an estimate, but we finally connected. The estimate was the most reasonable and we set up the work. The crew arrived promptly, did a great job and left everything cleaned up as promised.

We have used them before. We originally got them from Angie's List. We were very satisfied with them, so we had them back again. We got a senior discount. They were very efficient. They called back to come out and give an estimate. They came out on time and did the job. They did a very efficient job of tidying the trees up. As far as we are concerned, the price is good.

Excellent service! they worked with me on the time for the estimate and arrived promptly (before I needed to go to work in the a.m.). Since the work to be completed was in the front yard, I did not need to be home for the trimming and shaping of my fruitless mulberry tree. The gentleman that provided the estimate was very courteous and listened to what I wanted done. On the date of the service, when I arrived home, my tree was perfectly trimmed and shaped to provide shade as was intended when the tree was planted. Other than the tree looking beautiful, there was no trace of them being at the house. Everything was cleaned up! They left an envelope for me to mail the payment and the cost was exactly as estimated!

The owner of the company came out and he was excellent. He gave me an opinion and estimate of what to do with some tree problems in the back yard. He was knowledgeable, articulate, gave me options and he was reasonably priced. It wasn't a bargain, but for that expertise you pay a little more. The pricing was fair. I would have hired him, however I ended up having to leave town. He was good and would have been my first call based on the initial interview. His explanations of my options, how, what and why to do certain things was excellent. I understood it and it made sense. I do my homework before I call someone and based on the reading everything he said was consistent with my research. He was very considerate, he answered my questions and he wasn't trying to push me to do one thing or another. There was no ego, he wasn't trying to control me or direct my decision making. He gave me the facts, was very courteous, knew his business and allowed me to make whatever choice I wanted. He quote me a fair price and offered a 10% discount for being an Angie's List member.

I had used Don's Tree Service previously and was very satisified with the service. This time I called and requested the trimming of the birchs as well as transplanting a Japanese Maple. Arborist Jon Pace called me to discuss the job and recommeded not trasplanting the maple describing they are fragile and there was a high failure rate when transplanted. He recommended it would be cheaper to buy and plant a new one and also told he how to remove the old one. Based on his recommedation I decided against transplanting the maple. The birchs were nicely trimmed and the area was completed cleaned up.

Given the size of the tree, along with the potential for danger, I wanted someone who knew what they were doing. When I called for quotes, out of all of the providers, Don's Tree Service was the most professional of the lot. Since they are family owned, it did take some time for me to set up my appointment, about 4 weeks. They did excellent work and I was happy with the job that they did. But did I ever pay for the privilege! I had lower cost estimates and had the tree been smaller, I would have gone with one of the other outfits. At the same time, if you have a difficult job, I wouldn't trust anyone else.

They were great!! Cleaned everything up and got things done in a timely manner.

It went well. A crew of four arrived on time and got right to work. They did an excellent job. I'm not a big fan of my liquid amber tree but Don's Tree Service is so talented they actually made it look good! This is the second time I've used them and I wouldn't think of using anyone else for this work. Great job

We made an appointment for a bid with Don and Son Tree Service, which we found on Angie's List. We called then because they had a good (but undeserved) rating. Our appointment was for the time span 10:00 - 11:00 on Thursday, November 4th. They never showed and didn't even have the courtesy to call We waited until 1:20 PM to call them, but to make matters worse, they have no daytime phone number that will reach a live person. I called both numbers on their web page and just got a message to leave a number where we can be reached in the evening. I suspect that they have cell phones and resent the fact that they don't post those numbers. We learned all we needed to know about Don and Son Tree service by being stood up without even a courtesy call. How rude! I'll look elsewhere for a bid. John Corcoran

It went off exactly as discussed. They came at about 0845 and were through by 1230.. They were not the low bidder but near enough. The high bidder, someone not on Angie's List, was twice as much as the low bidder (who was also on Angie's List).
