CRAFTSMAN FURNITURE SERVICE

Great! Took pictures of all the furniture, sent measurements and Craftsman sent back a quote. They were so busy I couldn't get the furniture in for almost 3 weeks. However, we got the furniture in a couple days early and the whole job took about 10 business days. I couldn't pick the furniture up during the week, so they had someone come and open up the shop on a Saturday for me. The furniture is very beautiful and we now have all the furniture in the master bedroom.

Several weeks after I left the library table at Craftsman Furniture I received a phone call advising me that additional cracks in the tenons were found, plus nine screws at $1.00 each, which would increase the cost of the repair by nearly $80.  I agreed to the additional cost.  On Saturday, August 14, 2012 my daughter and I went to pick up my library table.  A woman was on duty that day.  While we were loading the table into the car I noticed a large (12 inch) crack completely through the stabilizing shelf, as well as a crack in one of the legs which had been poorly patched.  The woman quickly retreated inside the building. I was distraught!  On Monday morning I called Mr Durkee.  He gave no explanation for the damage, nor did he make any attempt to apologize.  I asked if the work was farmed out and he said all work was done in his shop.  He told me to return the table, which I did.  Again the woman was on duty.  She said they would glue the shelf and call me when it was done.  I now have a family treasure with more damage than when I brought it in!  The crack in the shelf was caused by screwing in the oversized screws. I have no idea how the leg was cracked. This is a far cry from craftsmanship.
