AAA VIC'S APPLIANCE REPAIR

:Contacted Vic (the owner) on May 26th to have him come out and fix our dishwasher. I told him that I suspected it was the control board, but not being a professional repair person could not, if course, be sure. He set an appointment for 2:30 on the 27th. He was over an hour late arriving. ALL he did was to take the model number of the dishwasher and say he would order the control board, that's IT. Said he would be back the next day (the 28th) to do the repair. Again, he was over an hour late arriving. He spent one hour until my husband finally asked him what was going on-he informed him that he was doing a diagnostic, and 'it appears that I need to order the control pad'...REALLY???? He promised to be back on the 29th on time at 2:30. At 2:45 I had to call to see where he was as my husband was waiting for him to show up. He got there at 3p, spent 30 minutes until my husband went in and asked him what was going on. THIS time he ordered the wrong size control pad and said "I can get one with the button exposed, but there will be water leakage and probably short out the panel again, this is going to cost extra, but because it's taken so long to get the work done, I'll only charge you for the parts and not labor'. OK, so yet another appointment was set up for June 1st (at 2:30). I call on the 1st late in the morning to make sure everything was set (because now we were SIX DAYS with a broken dishwasher and full of dirty dishes). He stammered for a bit, said he had the part, but now the cost to us was going to go from $450 to $575. I said that was unacceptable as he promised us no increase-his response "well you can tell me not to come back and do the work", which is EXACTLY what we did. We called another Angie's List vendor (all A ratings, which Vic's had zero reviews after being in Angie's List for 5 years and should have been a hint). They came ON TIME on June 2nd, immediately did a diagnostic and determined that it was the control board/panel, and that there were a couple other issues that should be taken care of-final quote for EVERYTHING $450. When my husband explained what we had gone through, and said who it was, his response "oh yes, we do clean up work for this guy all the time". I hate to give an "F" for anyone, but in this case it is totally warranted, and no one should ever use him for any kind of repair work.
