"This service call was performed April 19, 2014. At that time this was my review from this particular customer: "Arrived on time, work performed properly and professionally, excellent clean-up. Described what caused problem and gave excellent advice on preventing future clogs and other problems. My wife gives him an A+" I recently read his updated review written 2 years later, after a second problem occurred. The cost was not $300, it was $200. For a high end appliance the $200 repair that I recommended was the most cost effective choice and unrelated to the computer chip. The work performed did fix the initial problem. After a few days the computer chip failed. There is no way that I or anyone else, could have predicted a computer chip failing. I offered to only charge for the part, no labor cost or service fee, but the customer declined. I immediately called the customer upon seeing his second review to see if there was anything I could further do. Unfortunately there was nothing to be done after 2 years. I was still in bed when Phil called and talked to my wife the next morning. I hadn't told her I had contacted A&J so she had no idea what he was talking about ,but Phil just went with the flow. He told her I had written him and he was booked solid but if it was Okay, he would start early and slip us in the beginning of his day.
Phil arrived at the time he said he would and started to work. I pretty much knew which part had failed and Phil confirmed my suspicions. Not only that, but he checked the broiler element while he was there... just to make sure it was Okay. He had the part with him, installed it and was on his way a short time later. The oven was fixed and cooking better than ever. I felt the price as fair and service was the best!
On another occasion, I called him and although he didn't come out, he gave me valuable advice over the phone. The computer in my stove was shot. He asked me questions on the phone, then looked up the model of my stove. The computer would have cost more than a new one, so he advised me to buy a new stove, which I did. We spent maybe 15 minutes on the phone. Most companies wouldn't waste the time unless they were going to make money off of me.
I would definitely call A & J any time. Highly recommended!
Last night, our 15-year old refrigerator/ freezer gave up the ghost. No interior light, no ice, no cold. I called Phil to get him to come out, describing the problem. He told me that, based on the symptoms, he thought it was possible that the fridge wasn't plugged in! I checked. It was plugged in, but the GFI protector on the wall socket had tripped, cutting off power. I re-set the GFI, and now everything is working again. Phil saved me a service call. That's service. I give Phil the highest recommendation.

Phil was prompt in responding to my email and called my husband. He was very honest and said there was nothing he could do for this type of problem. We appreciated Phil's honesty and he saved us the price of a service call.
We definitely will use his company if we need service on our other appliances.
