Phil arrived on time and kept me abreast as he worked on my machines.  Both are old and he had no problem replacing belts and hoses that were definitely needed!  I felt very appreciative of the care and communication given/offered.

Finally, I've found an honest, reliable Appliance Repair Service.  Called this a.m. and left message - Phil called back within a few hours and scheduled an appt for that same afternoon.  My dishwasher has been going out for sometime now and I finally called to see what was going on.  I truly thought I was going to have to replace it BUT when I compared what I would have to spend on a new one - of equal value - it was apparent that I could get it fixed. 1 hour later - DONE   Cannot say enough about this company.

Our oven was going out just a few days before Christmas and we had family coming over. I posted a request on A&J's website stating our problem and explaining our pending need. I posted the message at 2:00 am and didn't expect an immediate answer.  (In fact many websites never respond)
I was still in bed when Phil called and talked to my wife the next morning. I hadn't told her I had contacted A&J so she had no idea what he was talking about ,but Phil just went with the flow. He told her I had written him and he was booked solid but if it was Okay, he would start early and slip us in the beginning of his day.  
Phil arrived at the time he said he would and started to work. I pretty much knew which part had failed and Phil confirmed my suspicions. Not only that, but he checked the broiler element while he was there... just to make sure it was Okay.  He had the part with him, installed it and was on his way a short time later. The oven was fixed and cooking better than ever. I felt the price as fair and service was the best!

I called him A & J this morning, and although he had a busy day, he was able to squeeze me in.  He was extremely friendly and likable.  I stood around and asked a lot of questions; he was happy to explain everything.  After checking a few things, he narrowed the problem down to the starter.  He told me if it had been the compressor, he would have recommended that I replace the frig because the cost of the part was almost as much as a new refrigerator.  Luckily, it was the starter.  He advised me that I have a really good model that should last a long time.
On another occasion, I called him and although he didn't come out, he gave me valuable advice over the phone.  The computer in my stove was shot.  He asked me questions on the phone, then looked up the model of my stove.  The computer would have cost more than a new one, so he advised me to buy a new stove, which I did.  We spent maybe 15 minutes on the phone.  Most companies wouldn't waste the time unless they were going to make money off of me.
I would definitely call A & J any time.  Highly recommended!

We have used Phil for years, and always been pleased with the results.
  Last night, our 15-year old refrigerator/ freezer gave up the ghost.  No interior light, no ice, no cold.  I called Phil to get him to come out, describing the problem.  He told me that, based on the symptoms, he thought it was possible that the fridge wasn't plugged in!  I checked.  It was plugged in, but the GFI protector on the wall socket had tripped, cutting off power.  I re-set the GFI, and now everything is working again.  Phil saved me a service call.  That's service.  I give Phil the highest recommendation.

Phil repaired my dishwasher by replacing the pump.  Recently he replaced the heating elements in my dryer.  I emailed him on a Sunday and he phoned right back to suggest troubleshooting solutions that I could do myself before paying for him to come out on the call.  The solutions unfortunately didn't remedy the problem and he came out the following day to do the repairs.

My dishwasher stop draining so I called A and J. The repair guy said they don't service out this far. But nonetheless he took 10 minutes on the phone with me. He quickly diagnose the problem as an air gap blockage. You walk me through the repair of the phone, and now my dishwasher drains fine. Thanks for the help - you really got us out of a jam!

He had came and fixed my refrigerator previously and did the work quickly. He had came out after hours and didn’t charge anything. He is very honest and tells me everything upfront. I really appreciated his honesty

Called and left a message.  Phil called back promptly. I explained the problem and he said he could be here in 20 minutes.  I had taken the clothes out but the water was still in it. He diagnosed the problem right away.  He replaced the part and gave me some tips to prevent breaking the part (not letting the lid slam or fall down). Phil was Very nice and professional.  Will absolutely use him again.

I was doing a full load of laundry this afternoon and the machine stopped before it got to the rinse cycle.  The water would not drain out.  I was a bit frantic--what was i going to do with a full load of clothes sitting in wash water?
I checked Angie's list and called the highest rated repair company, but they could not schedule me until Wed. morning.
I went down the list and found A & J Appliance Repair, located fairly close to me in Sacramento.  I called the owner Phil Grajeda at 4 pm and he said he would be here by 5 pm.  He arrived 15 min. early and got to work.  Evidently the lid clicks into a sensor when it closes signaling the machine to drain.  He replaced this sensor which was cracked and at 5:15 pm my machine was working again.  I was so pleased!
It cost about $165.00.  I don't know if that is ballpark for this type of repair or not, but the important thing was he was available immediately to do the repair.  I did not have to take my clothes out of the machine dripping wet and go elsewhere to finish washing them.
I would definitely recommend A & J Appliance Repair.

I sent him a message on Angie's List and he called me promptly.  He had the part on his truck and he replaced the part.  He explained what and why the part had broken and he stayed and ran the machine to make sure it was working properly.  He also looked at my dishwasher and he indicated the unit was plugged and he fixed this as well.
