Excellent. Found Jose using Angieslist. Called him and he said he could be onsite and do it anytime in the next 2 hours. Gave us a quote that he kept, was on time and double checked and provided maintenance on entire garage door beyond just the springs replacement quoted. GREAT service experience.

For reasons unknown, I thought I had the knowledge and skill to repair a garage door that was getting stuck when opening and closing. Obviously, as I'm writing a review on Angie's List, my confidence was unjustified; and, as is often the case in these situations (at least for me), I made the problem much, much worse. J & J Garage Doors was the first place I called, but Jose was booked solid a few days out, so he advised me to go with another provider (classy move). I did, but the other providers told me that my garage door was beyond repair and I would need a new door. (To be fair, my home was built in 1939 and everything on the door is original, so it makes it tough to diagnose, so no bad reviews for the other guys.) I was a little skeptical, so I called J & J Garage Doors again at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning and although Jose was booked solid again he said that he would come out at the end of the day because he felt bad that my garage door hadn't been fixed yet (!). How great is that? Jose and an assistant came out and in less than an hour had my garage door working better than it ever had...all for the princely sum of $65. I was prepared to pay quite a bit more than that, so I rounded up to $80. Jose was prompt, polite, professional and honest, You can't beat that!

I have used Jose for many years,as have members of my family. He has done everything from installing new garage doors where done existed to my most recent job of replacing the bottom slats on the gagarge door where someone ran into it. He does great work, even in the most unusual situations. He's always reasonably priced and pleasure to work with.

Several years ago, I bought a top of the line Sears garage door opener since it was a good deal and my then current motor would sometimes not work. My old Genie lasted 18 years before it finally stopped working a few months ago. After calling other Angie's List leads, I finally found Jose on Angie's List to do the install. He had the best prices, but had the lowest number of reviews. Spoke to Jose on the phone at 9am and he said he would come after he finished the job he was on. He called back at 3pm, said he was on his way, arrived shortly thereafter, and completed the job around 730pm.
Jose is soft spoken, friendly, knowledgeable expert that anyone would like to befriend. He did not upsell any products, but only after our initiated discussion of worn down parts, we decided to buy 10 new ball bearing nylon rollers ($30) that Jose also installed. He lubricated all joints and patiently took the time to educate us on all the new features of the new opener. Jose also adjusted our springs to the correct tension to extend the life of the motor. My new motor came with a wireless keypad that he also installed free of charge.
Don't let the low number of reviews here fool you. I highly recommend Jose and I will definitely use his services in the future. He is a one man show with no one in the middle, thus, his prices are the best. Its businesses like this that makes Angie's List so helpful.

Request 20,000 cycles springs. Jose had to order them. He came to measure it and even replace a temporary one so I can open temporary has a working garage door. Same day, he picked up the springs that we need and replaced them. Jose also adjusted my other single garage door for me. I will definitely recommend him to anyone who wants their garage door fix.

We have a home warranty on our property. Our garage door was stuck open and the home warranty company dispatched J.E. Garage Doors to do the repair. They were VERY professional and even came out on the weekend, as we had requested since we were leaving town and didn't want to leave our garage door open while gone for 10 days. We were extremely pleased with their promptness. And he didn't try to sell us anything while at our home for the repair.

Two weeks ago, my parent's garage door spring broke and I called a few places around me to get quotes around Walnut. Jose has the best price around and show up the next day morning. He replaced my spring and added support beams to my garage door. He also took the time to make sure the garage works well. Yesterday, I called him again for my brother in law's house in Chino
for garage door adjustment. I installed a garage door opener that I bought from Lowes, but I did not know how to adjust the spring. Jose came by and made it work like new. Very honest work and reasonable priced.

Our homeowners insurance would have covered it, but they were not able to come out for two days. But could not wait with our garage door open for two days. I called other local repair shops, but all of them said it would cost $45 dollars to come out and then an estimate will be given to us. I called Jand J told him the problem, he came less than 15 minutes later, for the price specified. The work was done real fast, went beyond what we expected, and was very pleasant to work with. I would definietly recommend Jose for his services.

He arrived promptly as arranged and everything went smoothly. The job was completed within 4 hours. He left the area neat and tidy.

He was excellent. An extremely nice guy; he had to come back a couple of times, but didn't ask for more money. In fact, he REFUSED more money when I offered. Did a perfect job.
