I found the company through an ad in my local city newspaper and made an appointment to get an estimate. The office staff (Tammy) set up an appointment for me and gave a time frame when the contractor would arrive. The contractor (Marcel) arrived and gave me a detailed explanation on the different types of gates he could build, the types of wood used, as well as the different types of hardware (hinges, latches, etc.) that go along with the gates. I found Marcel to be very thorough in his explanations on gate construction as well as very patient in listening to my questions when I asked about the materials and woods used, or construction methods. At no time did I ever feel that he was a "hard-sell" but rather his attitude seemed open to trying to help me meet my needs (which was to have a wooden gate put in). On the day the gate was scheduled to be put in, Marcel was running a bit late so I received a call from Tammy notifying me of that. Once Marcel had arrived and began construction of the gate, he checked with me on whether there was an outlet available, and also inquired about my preferences for the latch installation. That is, the latch could be installed with a pull string on the outside or without one. Marcel explained that by not having the latch with a pull string, it prevents neighborhood kids or people on the street from walking up and opening the gate. Once the gate was complete, Marcel had me take a look at it to see if I was satisfied, clean up the area and took away the old gate for disposal. In addition to being thoroughly satisfied with the construction and appearance of the gate, I also appreciated the level of communication from both Marcel and Tammy, letting me know the details of the gate construction, arrival times, and preferences on construction.
