They were great. Took 2 days and they installed 29 panels. Crew was great. We would have them back again if we needed them. I have an app to monitor the system. SMUD bill is now $20. and that is the charge to stay attached to the grid which is a must.

Great. Erin worked with us to get new boards under warranty from the manufacturer (Fronius) just under the 10 year deadline. Unfortunately, the original installer had been bought out by an Italian company so the service/labor warranty was not available to us. When we weren't sure we could get the boards under warranty, Erin also clearly laid out other options. The repair technician was efficient and knowledgeable which helped keep the labor costs down. I found the whole organization to be very professional and Erin's communication (via email mostly) was excellent.

Wed met with several companies and Brian H. from Capital City Solar was the most honest as to what we can expect from our solar. A big competitor tried to seriously "oversell" the amount of panels & even wanted to place some in our yard so they can guarantee us 100%. Unless you have no trees around it's very difficult to get 100% solar. Capital City Solar assisted us with our MPower financing and took care of the permits. Their employees(not contractors) were very nice & cleaned up each day they were here. We got the latest & greatest Sunpower solar panels. We had other quotes using older versions of chinese made panels and they wanted extra panels & inverters on each panel which brought the price right back up. Brian also added a 120 plug that can be used for one item if power goes out in daylight(i.e. Refrigerator or do a load of laundry). The office was very helpful if we needed anything. The follow up with the commissioning through PG&E was very thorough. We've had the solar for over a year now & it is producing what we were told it would and are very pleased. Capital City only does solar and they do it great!

The purchase with Capital City was great from start to finish.  Everyone we worked with there was very friendly and professional.  They showed up on time in nearly all cases, and when they were slightly delayed, they called in advance to let us know.
The crew that did the install worked with us to ensure the conduits were installed in the least obtrusive fashion and even painted all the conduits to match the house color (with our paint of course).  The crew arrived promptly when they said they would, called a few minutes in advance so we could get our dog put in the house and cleaned up each day before leaving.  They even let us know about a leak in our solar pool heater that had been wasting water so we could call the other vendor to come fix it.  The install took 2.5 days (a little less than they estimated).
We also asked for a lien clearance from SunPower (not something they normally do) and Erin worked with SunPower directly to get us what we wanted and let us hold back our final payment until that arrived.
There was a slight problem with the system not producing up to specs initially and although we didn't notice, the Capitol City folks saw the issue through the SunPower monitoring system and called us to set up a time to come out and fix it which they did the next day.  Since then the system has been producing power as we expected, with several days with a net negative bill.  Using the SunPower system definitely paid off as my system starts up earlier and shuts down later than my next door neighbor who went with Solar City.  The SunPower monitoring system uses a power line network adapter and requires an ethernet connection to your network router.  The monitoring web page is very easy to use and informative.
This was an very positive experience for us and if we ever need to put solar panels on another house we'll definitely call Capitol City.

They were very professional and did a very good job. They work they did was very nice. There was a little problem and they came back and fixed it.

Our experience with them was wonderful. There were no issues with the work and craftsmanship. Everything was top-notch. We had a look around a little bit and we have learned not to necessarily go with the cheapest bidder. It does not always work out in your best interest. They were in the ball park. I think we had a couple of bids. I think our energy had given us a list of people. That is where we got the recommendation like an endorsement from PG&A.

They arrived right on time and worked hard and I was finished in 2 days. The workers were knowledgeable and friendly. They even brought their own Port-a-john so they wouldn't have to use my toilet. I was so impressed that I even assisted my daughter in getting solar on her Lincoln home from this same company in 2012.

In 2009, Capital City Solar (at the time "SolarECity Electric", not to be confused with Solar City) installed 10 solar panels and grid-tied inverter.  We worked with Brian who helped us every step of the way, from selecting a system that was best for our needs, to handling the rebates and permits, to scheduling the work.  The installers were awesome.  Seriously a great experience.  The installers let me watch and ask questions and didn't seem to be annoyed that I was constantly wanting to watch the installation process.  We've now had our solar panels for more than 3.5 years and we are still delighted with it.  Just recently I contacted Capital City Solar with a question regarding our solar monitoring system, and they were prompt with a response.  Highly recommend this company.  The $14200 for installation was after rebates.

They did everything they said they would do, and were very good with cleaning up after themselves. David took the time to explain everything thoroughly to us.

Everything went smoothly, and there were no surprises.  Furthermore, I received the panels for free as part of a community service program.
