I've been going to this shop for around ten years. It's the most pleasant smog check shop, with sofas to sit on. The owner explains any issues to you - like the time I had an aftermarket catalytic converter that needed replacement - he explained the changes in the law. Granted, his English isn't great, but he gets the point across. He's also super-mellow. If you don't pass, the retest is free.
(I went to another smog check, and figured out what makes this place so nice: aside from the owner, it's the waiting room, which is practically a living room. I've been to places that are messy, and places that are clean, but this is the only one that's clean, pretty quiet, and has both indoor and outdoor seating, lots of reading material, and plants.)
