American Tire Depot - Rosemead

In response to local flier ad for a $20 oil change, I took in my Ford for a routine lube and oil change. They began the work pretty quickly, but after few minutes, the heavyset guy behind the counter calls me over and says that I'm going need all new hoses and belts, a radiator flush and new brake fluid service and "luckily" he had a special for each service so he can "save" me some money by getting it all done at a discount. When I responded "No", he continued with his efforts to sell my the additional service. After a few more times of saying "No", he relented then says, that I'll need a new oil pan bolt because the mine was strip. After asking to see the bolt myself, he quickly whips out a bolt so stripped, I started laughing -- as I realized that this guy was really pull a fast one on me. After he said it's "only $5 more", I advised ok, as just really wanted get out of there before anything else magically needed to be urgently replaced. A few days later I traveled to a trusted mechanic and asked he inspect under my hood to either confirm or rule out what SCHER Tire was claiming and this mechanic advised all hoses and belts, etc. showed no signs of needing replacement or service. I will never return to SCHER tire.
