Petkus Brothers just finished refurbishing our kitchen. The existing cabinets were refinished from stained wood to painted, the counter and sink was replaced, and new appliances were installed including an induction cooktop. Kevin and his team were a pleasure to work with and have in our home. And most importantly, we are pleased with the outcome.

Terrible. PaId $13,000 for a repair, replaced large section of wall with new stucco to repair a leak, leak returned, stucco cracked in many places, Petkus will not return phone calls nor stand behind their work.

They were supposed to be finished with the project back in October of 2016. It's now summer and the work is still not done.

work was finally completed well taking 3 months for a job they estimated to take 3 weeks. Communication with owners was not good. After having trouble and at the end upon sending the follow up review to them I was never contacted to address any of my concerns. The workmanship was good in the end after the counter and the tile floor had to be ripped out after their first installation then redone

It was complete about 11 or so years ago. I was very pleased with the professionalism, the detail of planning that went into the work, and all of the permits I needed were obtained. I have no complaints and am very pleased with the work. The patio cover still looks great 11 years later. I have to say that I didn't get competitive bids. At the time, I worked near Petkus Bros. and because I was familiar with their operation and store, I had them come out and give me an estimate and had them do the work.

They put in a kitchen sink in the kitchen and then did the backboard and the overhang hood in the kitchen. Then in the bathroom, they replaced both sinks. And put a new cabinet in one bathroom.
Their work is inferior. I've had plumbing problems. First of all, I had an inlayed tub, where you put a new tub over the other one. The tub was cracked, had a crack in it initially and they didn't want to replace it. They just wanted to patch it up. They never really replaced it they just worked on it to sand it down and patch it up. That was inferior first of all. They were supposed to replace, I had the hardware, when they put the tub in they were supposed to replace the hardware from silver to gold and they didn't really want to do that. I had to go back two or three times to ask him to do that. The hardware to the master bedroom to the sink, it leaked. In fact, I reported them to the Better Business Bureau because they didn't want to come and fix it after the initial time. They came back. Even after reporting them and them coming back a second time it still had a leak on the top.
They only had one guy there that was pretty easy to work with. He was the one that initially, that I talked to initially. I guess they contract out for other people to go out and do the work.

My sunroom is all aluminum frame with dual pane glass panels. It was 20+ years old and several of the glass panels had lost their air-gap vacuum and become cloudy. I signed a contract with Petkus to replace all the glass panels and associated gaskets, flashings, etc. They had to disassemble the framing and reassemble with the new glass panels. I was told the actual work would take about a week. In October 2014 I signed a contract with Petkus to do the work. It was stated in the contract that the work would be completed by November 26, 2014. It is now the end of March 2015 and I am still waiting for the project to be completed.
Petkus didn't start the project in November and then was unable/unwilling to schedule and complete the work in the rainy December. It was almost Feburary before the bulk of the work was completed. Now it is the end of March and I am still waiting for the final punch list items to be completed. The project was definitely executed at Petkus' convenience with little effort to meet the contract schedule or to make any effort to wrap the job up quickly after it was delayed. There didn't seem to be much effort to coordinate the work to make sure that all the outstanding issues could be addressed on one trip rather than several. Communication was pretty limited and I would usually have to call or email him to see if/when work was going to be done the following week. The guys who came out to do the work were pleasant did a good job. I would say that maybe if you were retired and/or had no problem waiting for work to be completed when it was convenient for the contractor then Petkus would be fine. But if you have a schedule you need to meet or find it difficult to stay home from work to give the contractor access then you will want to look elsewhere.

They did an excellent job. This is the first time we used them. As a matter of fact, we’re thinking about doing a kitchen remodel and we may go with them but it won’t be until next year. So we may talk to them about the kitchen remodel, but we always get 3 estimates and then we go from there. We’re totally pleased with them.

I'd recommend them. I'm going to have them come out and do some other things. They did exactly what I ask for. They were on time and very professional. They were neat and cleaned up well after the job was finished.

They made a beautiful white patio cover making my backyard a place to chill out everyday. The price is very competitive!

I am the 'Type A' personality, and a nit picker. Nothing at all to complain about. I priced the 'parts' on my own to do it as a DIY project at about $5k, and they offered to do it for $1200 more than that, great price.
Onsite estimator was ontime and did a thourough job understanding what we wanted. Quote was available the next day.
I didn't have to bug them about getting a permit, they already had that in the plan, and carried through on the application (I had to meet the inspectors twice, once for footings, once for final).
We had to dig the holes for the footings (not a big deal).
Crew showed up on time and knocked out the install in <4 hours for a large patio. Good planning, clean job.
They did great and I would recommend to anyone.

DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR ALL HE WANTS TO DO IS SELL YOU A SUN-ROOM AND WILL NOT
STAND BEHIND HIS CONTRACT OR HIS SUB-CONTRACTORS.

The work was awesome and they were in and out in a snap. They did exactly what I wanted. I sent about $2000 on that work.

We contracted with Petkus Brothers in March for a porch to be enclosed to make a sunroom. Kevin Petkus led us to believe it would take @ 2 weeks to complete our sunroom and with the 4 seasons sunrooms we would have a tax deduction because it was energy efficient (but a little more expensive). Work started in April. The sunroom was finally finished @ August 1st; we had lost the use of it during the summer. Everything that could possibly go wrong with this project, did. There was one delay after another. The finished product is absolutely beautiful; however, the final insult came when we contacted the 4 seasons company to get the certificate for tax deduction only to be told our sunroom was made using the wrong materials..aluminum rather than plastic. Therefore, we had no deduction coming. Kevin had never described the specific products he would be using in terms of what they were made of nor did he tell us by using one over another, we would lose the tax credit. We feel duped. Again, the finished product is lovely. Knowing now what the outcome would have been, however, would we have chosen Petkus? No.

There was a misunderstanding about something I communicated to them, but it didn't end up in the contract. I called them on it and we had to come to an agreement about it. Originally we had brought it up 3 times so it really should have been apart of the contract. Other than that the experience was okay. We got the most basic design you could go with, it doesn't have glass ceilings so it is like an enclosed patio. They showed up everyday and finished the project in a timely fashion. They always sent the same two employees and we had no problems communicating with them. They did a good job, we had a big rain but there were no leaks. The price was more than we were expecting and hoping, but they were basically in the middle of all of the estimates. It came down to two companies and we chose them because they had a slightly better estimate. I'm not sure that I would use them again because of the misunderstanding.

They did everything that they said they would do. They did a couple of extras at no additional cost.

I highly recommend Petkus Brothers out of Rancho Cordova. I knew I wanted a lattice shade structure when I solicited bids, but they were the only one of the 3 companies I got estimates from who spent time offering me alternative designs to maximize the shade effectiveness and attractiveness of the structure while minimizing the cost. Steve Nolan was the Senior Estimator who worked with me. He had great ideas and was sensitive to my price concerns. Not only was his bid the lowest of the 3, but his design was the most interesting and pleasing. Once the deal was struck, the main office took over. Ginger communicated effectively with me by phone and voice mail to coordinate scheduling. They secured the necessary permits, and sent me a package with the permit and instructions for displaying it. The builders arrived exactly when they were expected and installed the structure in less than 48 hours, leaving my patio cleaner than they found it. The quality of the work is excellent.

Their estimator was not accurate in some of the things he said could be done. So the plan had to be changed. Then he never called us back. Since the installation we have had to have them come back on several occasions, though they did come back we had to keep after them.
