I had their service for over two years, yard only improved about 40%. Some areas stayed brown, grass wouldn't grow. One scheduled Reseeding with soil turnover was done during a big wind event of 35 miles and hour. What? Really? Had to make many calls to return. For a period, I added the Bush / Shrub Care, my Oriental Plum tree didn't improve. Leaves won't grow or fill out. Later, to be told by Tree Service Co. the tree was getting to much water. It was in the center of my front lawn, very visible. Tree had to be removed due to Root Rot. TruGreen never said anything. Also, I was told two of the brown areas had Grubs! TruGreen didn't tell me that either! I cancelled about 6 months ago, after a Supervisor failed to return my two call. I feel they should work with a gardening service, "Joint Venture" for better results and should also improve their communication. I hired them a year before getting an a Appraisal, sadly it didn't help!!! I'm a retired Senior and female.

Miscommunication. Lousy, pushy customer service. They say one thing, and then don't follow through. We prepaid $470 for one year to see if they could get our lawn looking better. I also have four camellias that I was told would be included in the service. After the first treatment, we were told that the camellias were included in the first treatment only, and we would have to pay their full

That's fine.  I actually got my neighbor to take on TruGreen as well, so we've used them for a year.  We are very happy with them.  They are an excellent company and they provide more services than people realize.  They do your grass but they also fertilize your shrubs and bushes.  They come out of Riverside which is very close to Corona, and Riverside is a long heritage of very excellent scientific people in terms of plants and fertilizing and whatever.  So I find them to be a very scientific, responsible company that doesn't charge very much - you know, like sixty-something dollars.  They come out every six to eight weeks.  It's an excellent company.  I don't think any person would have trouble starting or stopping a relationship with them.  They leave you stuff on your door and they call you on the phone and let you know when they're coming.  It's an excellent business.  They are licensed to use products that are not available to the public.  The weeds in Corona have become resistant to commercial products. We essentially have created a population of very hardy weeds.  I'm kind of a science person, and when I failed to be able to get the weeds out of my lawn, I thought, I don't understand this.  I'm putting on very good products that I've bought for years from big companies that sell you bags of granulated products.  Nothing was working.  Even TruGreen admits that they use products on a lawn and they discover resistant organisms, and they have a Level Two, so I'm about to move up.  I have now surpassed the ... I have weeds no one can kill.  It's an interesting problem and it's creeping up on all of us; it's like the antibiotic problem.  I like the fact that as soon as I mentioned to the fella that I saw some weeds and I was surprised because I didn't expect that after a year of help from them, and he said oh, now we have to move you up to Level Two.  There's nobody better than them.  You can't get any help like this from any other sort of organization, really.  It's about $70.  It's a revolving, essentially a subscription that you have, and you don't have to pay them ahead of time and you don't have to give them your credit number.  They actually allow you to accept the little bill that they mail you a few days after your service.  So especially for people that don't want to get locked into you know, these charges that never go away and your number being used fraudulently, we didn't have to give them anything.  They essentially are trusting you that you will pay them when they send you a bill a few days later.  But they leave on your door a complete list of every product they used, what their observations are, and recommendations.  It's better than going to the doctor.  You get better service from TruGreen than you do when you go to your local family doctor.  They have very knowledgeable personnel.  If you want to go out and talk to the person, they want to talk to you.  They hope you'll answer your doorbell.  They actually advised us to get a new lawnmower, and they made observations that we would have to change a few things about our watering.  I would say their personnel is doing probably far more than what they're getting paid for.  They seem highly motivated.  Probably they need to improve ways of contacting them.  They have a problem with their central office and their regional offices, so it's a large bureaucracy and if you call the wrong number you kind of get in touch with someone in Illinois.  The fellas who come will give you their private cell phone numbers.  My suggestion would be that they make it a little clearer how to call them between visits, to ask questions.  I have refrained from phoning the personal cell phones of fellas who came to my door.  But you know what I'm saying, I think customers would perhaps like to know a local person they could call and not be calling Illinois.  For price, I think it's excellent; it's not expensive.  You could spend that at the store buying the wrong stuff, you know, putting it on and killing your lawn.  It's not expensive.  You know what else?  They guarantee you that if you're not happy after a service, you can phone them and they'll come out and do something else, until you are happy.  You get a certain number of services, but if your things going south, you can call them and they will return and do another treatment or make some adjustments to get the results that they have tried to guarantee.  I haven't actually done that either, but the man has emphasized to me how I should just call back if I see anything I'm not happy with, and they will come back sooner than their next scheduled visit.  They're trying to be extremely cooperative with the client and making sure they're happy. For price I'd think A; you couldn't possibly ask for better than that.  For responsiveness, you do have phone numbers to call; it's just like I said, they admit that they've tried to reorganize to be more efficient and so they've centralized like most businesses in America.  In fact, at this point you know you really kind of would rather talk to someone in Riverside.  Because it's the weather and everything that controls when they come.  The hardest part of their business is here in the desert it doesn't rain, but you can imagine their business has to be related to whether it's too hot to put the product on, whether it's too cold, whether it's too wet.  And so they actually schedule their visits when they're going to be most effective, which is kind of amazing.  You know, your cleaning ladies don't do that; they come every other Tuesday.  These people are actually scheduling when they send people out based on the weather.  For punctuality, they're right on the money.  For professionalism A; they wear a little uniform, they have a truck that's well marked, they're not scary at all.  In fact, they send the same man every time and he's a young fellow I've come to like.  And you know how people appreciate that, when it's your mailman or your whatever service, when you get the continuity there, it's not only better for them because they can provide better service, but it's a reassuring thing when you open your front door.  And you don't have to open your front door.  If you're not home and you have to leave your side gate open or whatever it is and they can get access to your property, that's why they call you the day before.  It is not a situation where you really must be there and you cannot, so they accommodate a working person or something like that.  I am using them and I would use them and I recommended them to the neighbors across the street, who started to use them and are thrilled.

Initially it was horrible, they would schedule an appointment and be a no show.? They were instructed to keep my gates locked and someone had to be home and they showed up when no one was here.? they were not very thorough initially as far as being able to meet my needs and take care of things. I finally got the manager involved after submitting a very negative review. The regional manager finally called me and unfortunately had to sale my home and discontinue service.? I would call customer service and they would be polite and tell me they were sorry but would never get nothing done. It took them 3 scheduling to begin with before they would come out and do the yard. They would say one thing and then do another. They are a little expensive. I didn't see a huge difference in the quality of myself doing it vs theirs.

I called Trugreen sometime in late August. I have an ash tree on my property that I need treated for Emerald Ash Borer. After I talked to someone in their corporate office, I received no callback or ETA, only an estimate of charges. Today at 7:15 AM a Trugreen truck was outside the house and a worker was fertilizing the bushes. I told him I had only called them for EAB treatments. He said that fertilizing is what they told him to do. I called Trugreen (can't get the local office, all numbers ring to a call center), and told them that I didn't want fertilization, I wanted the EAB treatment. She said that I could only get that in a package. I asked if the tree had been treated, and she replied that the service wasn't scheduled, but she would schedule it. She seemed confused that I didn't want the fertilization, and put me on hold. When she came back, she said I could expect a call within 72 hours from the Champaign office. I then tried to find a local number with no luck, although I did find a Yelp review giving the local company one star from 4 reviewers. This is not good.

They have been satisfactory.  They are timely.  The people who come out are usually pretty good.  We have a little communication problem with their office people because we wanted to add additional service and we had to re-confirm a couple of times.  Sometimes the people who are working on the phones just don?t get what they need to do or leave it up on the account.  It?s nothing that you can check around but it?s about you have to call more than once.

We have been using them for two years so we have not shopped around and we are comfortable with them.

I haven't had any problems.  They usually call me in advance to say when they will be here so I make sure they have access.  The price is reasonable for their service.  I had some trouble with the grass but it's not their fault.  I have no problems with them.  Every time I talked to them, the guys that have come out have been knowledgeable.  I am asking them questions and they are answering them so I have to take that their answers are somewhat correct.  They leave a list of what they did, the fertilizer they used or bug control that they used.  You can either pay in full for the whole year or pay each time they come so I just set up that they invoice me each time they come.  The service guy is good.  They have one salesman who came out to talk to me about the plants and he was pushy.  I told him no so he asked me if the supervisor can come out to talk to me then I said yes.  The supervisor was very knowledgeable and I told him about the salesman.  The reason why I said no to him was that he was so pushy.  The supervisor was very appreciative about it.

They are prompt and always call the day before to let me know when they will be there. They leave a summary of the work they completed and any recommendations they have. They clean up the walkways and driveway from any over spray so you can't even tell they have been there. They also now send an email report about the services they performed which is much easier to read compared to the hand written reports which have very poor penmanship. My lawns look good. The price seems a little high to me but I do have a fairly large property.

I think that they do a good job. If you're not happy, they'll come out and spray again. They also let you know that they're coming. Any problems that I've had with them, they acted to them immediately. I usually pay for my service in advance and I get kind of irritated when somebody from the office calls and wants to know if I want to sign up for their service and that happened to me. I signed up in December and they said no, I didn't look like I have been signed up so that irritated me. I kind of expect a lot from people particularly when they're professionals but that would be the only issue that I've had with them. I was supposed to have my lawn irrigated last fall but because of the weather, they weren't able to get to it and they ended up doing it at the end of the season but it was so late into the season so I don't think it was effective. Also, they wanted me to water it everyday and it was freezing outside so I'm gonna complain about that and they'll redo it for me. They charged extra because they have shrub and tree where they help prevent bugs, insects and fungus. I don't usually sign up for that because we can do better and it's usually just one or two applications and it's not like they have to come out on a weekly basis so we usually do that ourselves. I think the price is reasonable. I think I could probably find people that are less but I don't know if I could find anyone that's better.

They provide good customer service and call me up to let me know before they come out.  They use the different access to get to my backyard and are very friendly.  They perform a good job and I am definitely satisfied with what they do since they have provided me with very good service.  They are very customer oriented and their pricing is reasonable.  I can always call them to come back out if I have a specific problem and they will come back out.

They have done a good job.  Our lawn is greatly improved from what it was before.  We are satisfied with the service.  I like the results with the lawn.  The guy that comes out is courteous.  They always show up, they are dependable.  I re subscribed to the monthly service.  They are consistent.  They do come once a month and we are satisfied but they are not here for a long time.  They are very good.
