The Cabinet Lady Inc.
About us
The Cabinet Lady is a woman owned business selling real wood kitchen and bathroom cabinets at particleboard prices. We serve the Southern California market. We have over 80 different colors and styles from 12 different manufacturers. Granite is available in over 200 colors, and quartz in over 100 colors. We are a licensed General Contractor, and can do everything your kitchen needs. We've worked on kitchens that simply need design, cabinets, and countertops. We've also worked on kitchens that need more including flooring, walls, windows, and appliance relocations. We complete most cabinet and countertop installations in 2-3 weeks (slightly longer depending on other needed construction work). On a tight budget? Over 75% of the kitchens we have done have been under $20,000 including cabinets, countertops, and installations. A great price from a licensed contractor! Home consultations are available for $100. (which is fully credited towards your kitchen order - see my Angie's List storefront for a discount coupon). A designer will meet with you in your home to measure, discuss options, and show you all of the door and countertop samples in the light of your own kitchen. This is much more accurate for matching your floor and paint choices, and favorite accessory pieces. The designer will then work with you to create a layout, and show you the proposed kitchen in a 3D rendering. Why spend your time to travel all over when we can bring the showroom to you? The designer will also go with you to the stone yards to help you coordinate your countertop and backsplash choices. All of the designer's work is included in the price of your kitchen, and our prices will still beat the big box stores. Please visit our website at www.TheCabinetLady.biz to see over 100 Before and After photos of completed projects.

"Thank you so much for your wonderful review. Sometimes, a client has been living in a home for so long that it is hard for them to visualize new ideas. Our job (wearing our "Designer" hat) is to share new ideas in layout, colors, and styles. It is always satisfying to work with a client that is open to exploring new ideas. And when the client is thrilled with the final results, then that makes everything even better."
"Thank you so much for a great review. It was wonderful to see the transformation from your 1940s kitchen and bathroom to your new spaces today. They are now so much brighter and more organized."
"I'm so glad that you like the transformation of your kitchen as well as the additional storage cabinets. We're looking forward to adding that extra bathroom when you are ready."
"Unfortunately, there has been a big misunderstanding. In 2014, we did your kitchen. You loved your kitchen (see the previous review here or on my website www.thecabinetlady.biz). At that time, I told you there was a small amount of leftover material to do two small vanities or one large vanity. There was never enough leftover material to do three bathroom vanities. You told me that you were not ready to spend the money for the vanities, and I agreed to hold the material for you. For years, I stayed in contact with you and we stored your leftover piece for free. But you were never ready to spend the money to fabricate and install the vanity tops. In 2019 (5 years later), you contacted me about doing the vanity top and doing a bench under your low kitchen window. By that time, the piece had broken during a move. I told you that we would need to get a new piece, and I could not guarantee that we could exactly match the kitchen granite after all those years (since it is a natural material). I never laughed at you, and I was willing to give you a discounted material price (but you would still have to pay for fabrication and installation, the same as if we had done the vanity top at the same time as the kitchen). You said that you would think about which of these various projects you wanted to do. I never heard back from you. Now, it is 2 additional years after that meeting regarding the bathroom vanity top. And this is the first time you are reaching out to me."
"Thank you for the review. We look forward to working with you on the next one."
"Thank you for the great review. I'm glad the results exceeded your expectations."
"Thank you for your review. I'm glad we were able to make your kitchen more functional for you as well as fix the existing structural problems. That's a big benefit of working with General Contractors that specialize in kitchens. We can do all the repairs you need."
"Thank you for your review. We look forward to working with you in the future."
"Thank you. We work hard to assist our homeowners in making the right choices for their dream kitchens."
"Thank you for the review. It was great being able to give you so much more storage. I have been using the completed photo of your kitchen to show people how they can add a playful pop of color in using backsplash tile."
"Thank you for the review. I always strive to give my clients more than they expect for their money. Sometimes prospective clients hesitate to pay the consultation fee (although it is applied 100% towards their kitchen order). But I have never had a client say that the consultation was not well worth the money that they paid."
"Thank you for the review. I'm glad to have been able to help you out with your remodel."
"Thank you for the review. I'm glad we had the opportunity to remodel your kitchen. The difference in appearance and function is amazing. I'm sure you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it for years to come."
"Thank you for your Angie's List review. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with."
"Thank you for your great Angie's List review."
She contacted us the same week to make an appointment.. I explained over the phone what we were looking for, she told us that they handle everything cabinets, countertops and sinks. I let her know that we just wanted our countertops done and wanted to see what that would look like on the computer. We also mentioned that we wanted some of her design ideas.
She measured and showed us some samples that were in her car. We had to bring samples out of her car and it was a chilly and windy day. I would of liked to see the samples inside were the kitchen was. After she measured and explained what the differences were she asked us if we had any further questions. We asked her when were we going to get our 3D rendering view on the computer.
She said that there would be nothing to show because what we would pick for the counters wouldn't be the exact color. She also said that we didn't buy cabinets so there wasn't anything that she could show us on the computer. I went back an forth with her saying I wanted to see what a backsplash would look like in different colors and heights. She then went over to the wall and put her hands out at different points on the wall saying this is what it would look like at this height and moved her hands and repeated this is what it would look like at this height.
She sent us an email with some cost info in a paragraph form.
We stated at the beginning of the initial conversation that we didn't want the cabinets done. We could have saved ourselves 49.00 and got Lowes or someone out of the Pennysaver to give us a quote. She needed to let us know she wasn't able to give us a computer 3D rendering of what this would look like.
We need a refund, and this was my first experience, I will give this site another try even after this experience.
"I'm sorry for any misunderstanding. You purchased a coupon for a kitchen remodeling consultation. When I contacted you to set up an appointment, you stated that you only wanted new countertops. I agreed to honor the half price coupon even for countertops only. I drove 45 minutes and met with you after work. I spent 30 minutes taking photos, measuring your kitchen, discussing different materials, and discussing edge options. I then invited you out to my car where I had brought over 100 samples to narrow done the choices. Although I felt that a simpler quartz countertop would look better with the multi color tile backsplash you already chose, you only wanted to look at busier granite patterns. None of them matched well to the tile. Thus, I offered to personally meet with you at 3 different stone yards and a tile store to help coordinate a look that you would like. You selected two granite patterns for price comparison purpose, even though you knew you did not want those exact patterns. Then we went back into your house. We did not bring in any samples since none of them matched you backsplash tile.. You asked if I could do a rendering showing different mosaic backsplash patterns and countertop patterns. I explained to you that there are hundreds of granite colors and hundreds of mosaic backsplash colors, and that my computer program has some, but not anything that matched your choices. I stated that the best way to see the various color combinations was to visit the stone yards in person. I agreed to price out two granite choices in prefab and slab to help give you a range of prices. After an hour, I left your house but the granite yards were closed by that time. The next day I sent you prices and addresses for the stone yards. I once again extended an offer to meet you at the yards in person. I did not hear back from you, and then you posted your review."
"Thank you for your review. I look forward to working with you on future projects."
"Thank you for the kind review. We are happy to get started when you are ready."
"Thank you for the review. I'm sorry that I didn't have a cabinet design that you liked. I keep your designs in my files for 5 years, so if you change your mind then we don't have to start over."
"Thank you so much for the nice review. I look forward to working on your bathroom."
"It is always nice to be able to do repeat business for a customer. I am glad that you liked your kitchen that we did for you a few years ago, and that you hired us to do your bathroom this year."
Elana, the Cabinet Lady herself, is very professional and knowledgeable. Being our first remodel/renovation, she was very patient and thorough in answering all our questions and concerns. She even took me down personally to the granite warehouse and helped me pick out the granite used for my countertops. The contract workers were all VERY professional and polite! They cleaned up after each days work. If something needed an additional and quot;touch-upand quot; they were very diligent in getting it done. They all worked hard each day and did not waste anytime. They communicated what their plans were each day and were on time in arriving when they said they would. I HIGHLY recommend the Cabinet Lady and her team!
"Thank you so much for such a nice review. It was a joy working with you to turn your tract home kitchen into your dream kitchen. I always get such a thrill being able to give people more than they expected for less than they had been quoted previously. I look forward to also being able to offer your friends and family a great experience remodeling their kitchen."
"Thank you so much for the wonderful review. I look forward to working with you on your future jobs."
"Thank you for your wonderful review. We were so glad to be able to do your laundry room and additional tile work as well as your kitchen."
