Look no further.  You have found the best choice.  Unlike SO MANY other tree services, Steve's Trees actually maintained all of the appropriate insurance policies and licenses required.  I knew this because they provided current certificates directly to me from their insurance agents.  This is VERY rare and separates Steve's Trees from the rest of the pack.  Let's be clear.  Insurance coverage for tree removal differs greatly from standard landscaping coverage.  Moreover, they were willing to state in their proposal that they would not use subcontractors or subcontracted labor...also very rare and important should an accident occur.  No other company we contacted was willing to do the same.  This protects the homeowner and is often foolishly overlooked. 
I want to emphasize the danger and difficulty of this particular job.  The top of the palm had grown right over the middle of the roof.
 
Steve drove a long way to give us a free and very thorough on-site inspection.
On the day of the job I was impressed by Steve's skill, confidence and command of his crew.  The job went flawlessly.  We are blessed to have found him.

He answered his phone immediately.  The price was fantastic, the quality was fantastic...everything was fantastic!  We needed someone we could trust and we found it with this provider.  The job was exactly what he said it would be and it was the most wonderful experience we ever had!  I would recommend them to anyone and when we need work in the future we will be calling him!

He's excellent. Some trees were tall and some were not. They're excellent. They give excellent service. They always clean up after themselves.

Steve Cowen and his crew took 2 days to do this extensive job. The trees had grown quite close to the party wall property line and were also dangerously close to roofs/homes. It was amazing to see how high in the trees the crew worked, with and without boom, how careful the crew was with structures, etc. near the site, and the quick clean up of the area. Other tree crews came and looked the site over two years ago, and as their eyes widened, said that the trees looked and quot;fineand quot;. This was not a job for the faint of heart. The crew even cut a stack of firewood which was a surprise plus! I have already passed Steve's name on to neighbors that actually watched the process from across the street; they were able to see the crew, in our backyard, from over our two story house.

Steve was very prompt. I could do everything over the phone. He went out, gave a good bid, and did the job the same day. I met him halfway to make the payment. He was great. I would absolutely use him again.

Steve was terrific--from my initial phone call to settling up the bill. He responded immediately to my request for a bid, gave me a reasonable price, delayed starting the job a few days at my request (because I had an emergency), and delivered as promised. He hired extra crew to get the job done in just three days, he and his workers were a pleasure to work with, and he cleaned up everything. He did a fantastic job on my trees and didn't take out a single dead/dying tree without my permission.
My neighbor and I previously used the same tree company, but when that company butchered her trees, I knew I had to find a new tree guy. I really liked what others had said in their reviews about Steve's Trees, so I called him. He is excellent and my neighbor is now very envious of my beautiful trees. I would recommend him without any reservation whatsoever. Very talented, very professional, very hard working, and a very nice guy!

Steve responded quickly to my inquiry, and came out the same day to give me a bid. His bid was VERY competitive, and he was able to get the job started within a few days. His crew came when they indicated they would be there, and quickly cut down and removed I a pine tree that had died. He even took along a small plum tree to dispose of at no extra charge.
I would highly recommend Steve and his crew, and will hire them again if I need additional tree service.

I called Steve's Trees for the purpose of trimming an olive tree. Steve felt the tree did not need trimming. He did notice another tree that was turning brown and recommended it be removed because of infestation. I agreed to have Steve removed the tree. He did a fine job of removing the tree.

Great experience. Steve came by and provided an estimated within a couple of hours of being contacted. He's very knowledgable and professional.

His crew was able to come by the next day to remove and prune the trees. They were very organized, and the site clean-up was excellent.
