PODS Moving & Storage

We contested a $350 charge because PODS left their pod out for longer than needed. They froze my pods account and sent the $350 to a collection agency, so I had no choice but to pay the $350. It has taken several phone calls, lasting up to 1 hour each, to remove the freeze so they can tell the collections agency the account is already paid. It should have never been sent to collections in the first place!!! The total charge was $5,000+ (for a cross country move) and they sent it to collections over $350. NOT TRUSTWORTHY.

Things went well at first. The customer service reps seemed very responsive and helpful on the front end. However, it wasn't until deliver when it became apparent that they did not know what they were doing. First, they scheduled me for a delivery date that was unavailable, and did not tell me until the DAY OF that I would not be receiving my goods until the next day. On that next day, they tried to pick up the container less than an hour after they delivered it because they only moved the drop off date, not the delivery date in their system. Then, they failed to pick up a container on schedule, which prevented them from dropping off my final shipment due to lack of space (my driveway only holds two containers at a time). I called when I noticed that my promised pickup window had passed, and was told by the customer service rep "no big deal, it will be handled." This morning I was woken up by a phone call telling me my container was on its way; when I told the driver we didn't have anywhere to put it, he took it to a different warehouse and "told the manager." He called me back and said the manager would handle it. Well, it wasn't handled, and now I'm two more days without beds and chairs and tables as I write this. Every one of the customer service reps was friendly and sympathetic. I asked for second tier help, and then it was elevate to the regional manager, who did...nothing. No response, no email, no phone calls. The drivers and customer reps are friendly and try to help. But the backbone management and scheduling appears to be seriously flawed. This was a very painful move.

The experience was great. I had to leave my stuff in storage for an additional 7 months and when it arrived to my new home everything was great and nothing was broken.

It went very well. All of the men that I met (the one who dropped off the container and the one who dropped the unit in Vero Beach) were all very friendly and accommodating and did everything when they said they would. They are the highest price among others, but you get what you pay for and they may be willing to match the price of a competitor.

I rented a large storage container from PODS for temporary storage of household items during a remodel. The reservation process was easy and I was able to work with the same person each time I called. I wound up rescheduling the delivery date the day before, no problem. The driver called when he was on his way and performed a rather difficult placement of the container. He let me know in advance that what I wanted would cause some damage to my grass and, after I signed their waiver, did as
much as he could to preserve the lawn.
The container is clean inside. The only complaint I have is the hockey-puck style padlock I wanted to use won't work with their door latch.

Drivers were excellent; call center was terrible. Rep was disorganized and unresponsive. I asked the rep to schedule a pickup of the container on 10/28, and she did not. I had to call another rep, and the container sat in front of our house until 10!31 because the local service center had not been informed to schedule a pickup. Not a good way to be welcomed to the new neighborhood!

The company showed up on time (between 8 and 11 though it was almost 11 when they did) and proceeded to tell me that they couldn't deliver the pod because the driveway was too narrow for their truck. I found this particularly irritating because I had discussed the driveway on the phone with the customer service representative (I had concerns that it might be too steep). At NO POINT did they tell me what the size/space requirements were! I have an 8' driveway (common in our 50s era neighborhood) and the truck itself was 8.5' wide - they need at least 10' to get through. I wasn't charged since they couldn't deliver it, but I was left scrambling for another storage option at the last minute (I had contractors coming the next morning to begin cleaning out the garage). The driver was apologetic, but I got the impression from him that this has happened before. He gave me a name of another company that used forklifts to deliver their containers, which was nice. However EVERYONE'S time and effort would not have been wasted if PODS had just said, "The size of our truck is xxx" when I made my appointment. Construction on my project was delayed (I couldn't get another company to deliver the same day that late in the day) and all for a very stupid reason. I'm sure the PODS containers are very nice, but if you choose to use this company make sure you ASK about their space requirements.

When they dropped them off, they came on time. After I had one emptied, they were out the next day to pick it up and were very prompt. If I need this type of service in the future I will use them again.

The staff was always nice and friendly to work with. We used one of their larger units and everything was stored safely and without any damages. I would recommend them to anyone.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND VERY INFORMATIVE. THEY HAD EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. IT WAS VERY CONVENIENT, AND THEY ARE WELL WORTH THE MONEY. THEY INFORMED ME EXACTLY WHEN THEY WERE DELIVERING THE PODS AND WHAT I NEED TO DO TO BE PREPARED. THE DELIVERY DRIVER WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DROPPED THE POD OFF VERY GENTLY. IT WAS JUST A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE.
