It would have been irresponsible of us not to write this review of Petersen Dean to inform others of the nightmare it has been since signing with this company for our roofing and solar project . We signed a contract February 2017, for an entire lift, paper, and re-lay of our concrete tiles. The salesman told us everything we wanted to hear including the quality and benefits of having Petersen Dean perform both our roofing and solar project, since they are the only solar company that owns their roofing company. We also went with the financing company that they suggested. The bank threatened twice to cancel my loan because Petersen Dean never provided them with a work estimate. This was the first sign they were unorganized and the beginning stages of our nightmare. The workers started the “tear off” on May 22, 2017. Petersen Dean outsourced the job to Modern Roofing. We were unhappy they outsourced the project because they did not inform us prior to the project beginning and we wanted to do business with one company, but we hoped that quality would not be sacrificed since Petersen Dean chose this company to represent them. The project has been a disaster since it began. The crew that is still laying the roof as of today (June 19, 2017) blames the initial crew for not removing the tiles properly and leaving broken tiles stacked on the roof, so the project was delayed awaiting new materials. The workers never clean up after themselves; there are soda bottles, plastic ice bags, and nails left throughout our front and back yards each day. The contract clearly reads that the crew should be cleaning up after themselves. Even though we expressed this to the superintendent (Gilbert) they continue to leave a mess daily. They missed every single deadline they have given. They have given me 5 different dates on when they would be finished and they have missed them all! I no longer trust any date they give me. I asked the project manager (Alexandra) for a new crew weeks ago and she never responded. Nevertheless, she finally responded on June 6, 2017, the day the crew broke out the window in our family room. I was standing about 7 feet away in my kitchen horrified as glass shattered and was scattered over the entire floor of our family room. If my family or I would have been standing or sitting in the room where we watch TV, we definitely would have been hit by the flying glass. My treadmill was ruined because the glass debris is embedded in the belt and other components of the system. They offered to give me a credit for the treadmill; however, this does not help us at all. We will have to come out of our pockets for hundreds of dollars for the repair or replacement of the treadmill due to no fault of our own. The power tools they used overloaded our circuit and we were without power to half of our kitchen until the superintendent (Gilbert) responded to the residence and reset it. The crew is unsafe; my husband was almost hit in the head with a heavy tape measure that tumbled off the roof. It has been a horrible experience so far and they have yet to begin our solar project. We started this process in February 2017, so that solar could be installed before the heat wave of 2017. Now the summer heat is here, our electrical bills are getting higher and higher and still no end in sight for the roofing project. The project which is costing us over $50K is a loan amortized over 20 years, so how is giving us a credit for our damaged treadmill, instead of writing us a check helping us today? We could not be more displeased with the unresponsiveness, lack of safety, poor workmanship, and lack of integrity that we have experienced with Petersen Dean. They had such good reviews; perhaps they were better in the past, but no longer. We would never do business with them again, nor would we recommend them to anyone seeking roofing and/or solar. Over $50K is a significant amount of money to spend on subpar quality and service. Even our neighbors have expressed their disbelief about the amount of time this project has taken. We just want this all to be over with at this point. I will update the review when the solar work begins. We have given Petersen Dean several opportunities to make this right and they have not.

It turned out great and the system is working fine. They did a good job and they were on time. They explained everything that was going to be happening. They worked in stages and the inspector would come do the inspections.
