Our ac system went out on Friday, so we called our home warranty company American Home Shield to get service. They contracted Ample Air Systems to call to schedule an appointment and handle the service. Being Friday, I wasn't hopeful that we would get service very quickly... but it is mid-October. Ample air called us back and gave us a Wednesday repair but we didn't get a time estimate until 3:30 Tuesday, which was Wednesday from 8-11. Robert Hawk from Ample Air showed up around 9, since we have off-white carpets I was going to get something to cover his boots but he already came prepared with them. After some diagnostic questions, he went to the outside unit to run tests to get to the problem. Within 5 minutes, he knew what the potential issue was, he replaced the components (capacitors fried) and energized the system "voila" all was well again. Robert was cordial and also gave us some tips about our unit and how to care for it which was nice. I would have him out to service our equipment again...???

My Furnace/Air Conditioning maintenance provider had said I needed a new unit which would have cost thousands. They said it was because there were rivets missing in the heat exchanger that carbon monoxide leakage could be a problem. |The Ample Air technician tested for the feared carbon monoxide and found zero levels. He suggested I get a couple carbon monoxide detectors (which everyone should have anyway) and avoid the expense of a new FAU right now. |It was a great relief. If I lived in a colder climate the unit might get more wear and tear however being only about 19 years old it should be able to last longer. He was courteous, friendly, polite and very straight forward. I appreciated the honesty. It was certainly good to have the second opinion.

My A/C unit did not want to turn on. To make matters worse, I discovered this at the beginning of a three day holiday weekend. When I called to make an appointment, Ample Air was not available for another week, but they quickly called back when they had a cancellation and came out the next day. They examined the unit, fixed the wiring, but also cleaned it out and made sure that everything was working as it was supposed to. Plus, they were very friendly throughout the process!
