Last month we changed our phone service which interrupted our ADT service and needed an upgrade to make our system work properly. At that time we made arrangements to have an ADT appointment for a tech to come out and fix our system. We had to choose between 8-12 and 1230-5. We took the 1230-5. Each night our failed system would wake us and our toddler at 120am with a beeping until we hit the cancel button.
Excited on the day ADT was supposed to show up, I called them after waiting up till 440 with 20min left for the appointment. Waiting on hold for 20min I finally got someone and they told me that the representing company in Riverside called my wife?s cell phone at 820am that morning to reschedule to another day. My wife?s cell had no missed calls and no messages. I asked them if they left a message and they said after being placed on hold many times that they did leave a msg on her cell phone, so at that point I felt they are calling us a liar. So I asked if we were liars or maybe no one called. After round and round trying to find out why no msg or call and who was supposed to show up from where. ADT finally admitted that it was their fault they did NOT actually schedule any appointment for us. I said I wanted a technician to my house that day because we are tired of the alarm sounding at 120am waking us and our toddler. That fell on deaf ears, that we simply should turn off our breaker until the tech will arrive. The next appointment was scheduled for a week later(a week later?????? that was the earliest they would come!!!) and I took the earlier 8-12 slot.
That day came, at 920am I called to see the status of our tech and was told the tech was going to all me in a few minutes. I got off the phone and waited. An hour and half later I called ADT and said I received no call. After holding for many minutes, ADT told me they had called earlier to reschedule AGAIN, (Deja vu). I was trying so hard not to blow my top. They were just too busy to make it that day was the explanation (no call or msg on mine or my wife?s cell either, hmmm trend?). After explaining I had already done this a week earlier the phone scheduler (place on hold again for several minutes) said they could send someone out in the afternoon slot. After spending hours on hold on the phone and over 10hrs of time waiting at home (no recomp for lost time at work of over 10hrs) for an appointment to show, our alarm was updated and working. I am placing this YELP review on the Riverside ADT office because it was the parent office of ADT that blames them for the missed appointments and missed reschedule messages. The tech that finally did show up was pleasant, did not have any badge/credentials on him at the door until I asked for them in which he had to go back to his van to get them. Also on the final paperwork there are plenty of spots to initial that I was explained how the system works, also how to do many things you need to operate the system in which I asked him about those spots on the form to which he replied "I didn't change anything and it is exactly the same". Not the truth, our door chime that is on was now not on any more. What else are we going to find? Also asked for a manual for our system to which her replied "It is an outdated system and they no longer carry the manual". I ask myself, why do I still have ADT in my house.....
ADT DID NOT FEEL LIKE A VALUED CUSTOMER but more like an inconvenience.
