I had to replace my old fluorescent light fixtures and chose to replace them with new LED ones. The technician was on time, courteous and professional. He also took the time to explain what he was doing while he was working. Overall, I’m very pleased with Johnson Electric Controls.

Owner Terry seemed flippant and condescending in written communications when we simply asked questions on the scope of work, and refused to provide a quote on additional services he suggested we commit to. I was tempted to simply go to another company, but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, as sometimes written communications can be misleading. When I spoke with him live, I asked him why he thought it was acceptable to address customers like this, he told me **I have people begging me to do jobs for them and I just took this job to do you guys a favor - I just do not like your sense of entitlement with expecting me to have the job done on your timeline** (his actual words!) Clearly, we were really taken aback by how presumptuous he was of our business, and that he finds it acceptable to treat customers in such a way. Possibly he was having a bad day/week, but he was arrogant and unapologetic when confronted about it in live conversation. I see he has several appealing reviews, but none in the last 3 years if you look at the dates. Not sure what to think about the large gap, but either way, no business owner should ever treat customers with such disdain. Obviously we immediately severed our talks. So if you are looking for an electrician that will treat you respectfully and appreciate your business, this is not that guy. In the 24 hours since our conversation, we have already got another electrician working on the job and he is courteous and respectful.

"My recommended scope of work to bring their rental property up to current NEC (national electrical code) and current safety standards were beyond what the customer wanted to invest in the project. Additionally, if they had decided to proceed with my recommended scope of work, I would not have not been available to do the work based on the timeline required by the customer. Based on these issues I recommended the customer find another professional to complete their job. Though my business is primarily focused on industrial customers, which explains the gap in reviews by homeowners Mr. Curtis was concerned about, I appreciate all opportunities"

"Unfortunately, I can't please everyone. Phyllis was given an estimate over the phone with the caveat that price could change. There were two jobs to complete. I was unable to complete the second one because it was discovered their outdoor awning was unable to support the new ceiling fan. By then, almost all the labor had been sunk into the job. Being that I did not cause the problem, unfortunately for them the time was billable. As far as cleanliness, I don't have any customers complain about this. I always have a trash bag while I complete jobs like this and that day I left with one half full. Other than fine dust which my vacuum will not pick up, everything I used was picked up, so I am not sure what she is referring to. Before I left, I showed the customer why the fan could not be hung underneath the awning; she made the decision to not move forward any further. I explained, unfortunately, the time was billable which she acknowledged and stated she understood."
