Description of Work: Constantly down, and their so called techs are idiots. The install guy didn't even know what "ping time" was.

Description of Work: Installation and testing of the modem, installation of the phone modem, and we also paid our first month's internet bill. There were some issues after setup, and the technician stayed until everything was cleared up. It probably took longer than he was expecting, but he didn't get frustrated or a mad about not getting to his next appointment quickly. He also showed up pretty early. Our appointment window was 8am-noon, and he was there by 8:30. He also called ahead to let us know that he'd be there soon.

Most of the year, service is just fine. During high summer, when the temps get over 100 degrees, I experience service interruptions. I called in to Mediacom's held desk, struggled with them, but when I finally got a truck rolled out (multiple times) the tech was always professional.

Brad noticed that I had been with Mediacom for decades and lowered my bill for customer loyalty. It was so awesome in this day and age of only catching a break if you are a new customer.

Description of Work: I have had Mediacomm internet service for about a month now. I am paying on a plan starting at $39.95 a month. It should be noted that by the terms of this agreement the the price increases by $10/mo every year in the plan, capping at $59.95/mo without a plan (month to month). There is also a cancellation of services fee in the policy after the first month of service. I think it is roughly equivalent to $20/mo for the remaining months of the contract. Note to buyers All internet service providers do this! In the time that I have had service I've basically had three experiences with them. - installation went well, installer was a young, quiet, courteous chap. Installed it without issue or creating new access points in the house. - Speed test: I've done a speed test a few times since I installed their service. I am typically seeing speeds of 17-20 mb/s during peak hours out of the 30 mb/s rated as the maximum/advertised value. Their quoted minimum was 70% of the maximum i.e. 21 mb/s. In all but peak hours I am typically above this by a few points at 24-25 mb/s. Overall, about what I expected. -One outage: There was one outage that lasted for at least a few hours since

They were good. The installation was fast and easy. Everything went smoothly. I had internet, they discounted me the installation fee. I have to pay like $44 a month. Their speed is not really that slow, but more so because of where we are. They are very responsive.

I am filing a complaint against the derogative from Credit Protection Association for the amount of $81.73 and the account number of 1519765058, due to poor services, poor customer services and potentially fraudulent operations. CPA is acting on behalf of Mediacom. I have paid CPA on 27 October 2009 for the full amount with the following confirmation number 24373672. Mediacom failed to provide acceptable service as specified in their service contract signed during the month of September 2008 for the following reasons; Internet service was never delivered in a usable state and I have phone logs that indicate more then 11 trouble calls for poor internet service which begins on 22 October 2009 and ends 12 December 2008. After five attempts to get a service technician to the location, of which they showed up late on 1 occasion and not at all on 2 other occasions, and after 2 months to correct the deficient service with no satisfactory solution I elected to terminate business with Mediacom. Upon termination they informed me of a $60 charge which was for the television service. Although Mediacom did credit my account for poor internet service on two occasions there was no mention of past due amounts for television service while on the phone with the service representatives. There was no mention of television bill on any of the 10 phone calls until the final 11th phone call on 12 December 2008. In my continuous and incessant requirement to make trouble calls the television service was assumed none functional and not used during the months of September, October, November, and December. In fact it was never hooked up to the television. During December 2008 after discussion with the customer service representative and upon reaching the decision to discontinue service I was informed of the over due bill for the television portion. At this point I was not interested in paying Mediacom for the poor and unacceptable services provided which include approximately 2.2 hours of phone conversations in total. Additionally, on 2 occasions I was annoyingly disconnected by the telephone switch board mid conversation forcing me to return the phone call and speak with a completely different service representative. Due to military obligations from January 2009 through August 2009 I was unable to respond properly to the bill which was eventually turned over to the collection organization Credit Protection Agency. The following are my records of services provided; 22 October, discussion about internet service. 24 October, internet router had reset over 4500 times, 27 minutes. 30 October, request and set up a service technician appointment not available until 4 Nov. 15 Minutes. 04 November, Service technician fails to appear as scheduled. 05 November, Reschedule appointment, disconnected during conversation by Mediacom Switchboard. 20 minutes. 11 November, Technician appointment for 13 Nov. $26 Past due paid.15 Minutes. 14 November, Technician queried if problem still persisted. It did. 5 Minutes. 18 November, Mediacom informed they will not receive payment until satisfactory service is provided.15 Minutes. 21 November, Technician appoint for 24 November. 10 Minutes. 24 November, No one showed up. 12 December, Canceled service Disconnected during conversation by Mediacom Switchboard. 15 minutes. Satisfactory conclusion of this complaint would be removal of this derogative from all three credit agency reports TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian not simply to list the derogative as “in dispute” or “paid”. Due to the amount of money involved and other requirements I have elected to pay CPA the owed money with the following confirmation number 24373672. Additionally, I have filed a complaint against Mediacom with the Better Business Bureau on 27 October 2009, complaint number 89021621
Description of Work: Mediacom was intially hired to provied Television and Internet Services. The internet services were never satisfactory and television services were assumed inoperative. Additionally, the Mediacom phone switch board disconnected me on 2 occasions and due to internal policy service representatives did not call back or give employee numbers so I could speak directly with the same person. The following is a timeline of trouble calls that I placed with mediacom from 22 October 2008 until 12 December 2008. 22 October, discussion about internet service. 15 minutes.
