We like them a lot. They were very good. Their price is a little bit pricey but it worth it. They painted our house 20 years ago so they just came back and touched up the work they have done then.

They did a great job getting my home painted. My only complaint is that the price kept going up. I believe that was in part due to changes being made along the way. But in the end I still thought it was worth it. They did a really food job. I had a very special job. I wanted varnish instead of paint. The owner was willing to take my advice on how to work with the product. In the end it turned out well.

As usual, everything was done well. I can't say enough about Bob O'Brien and his crew, most who have been with him for many years. I would recommend O'Brien to anyone. They may not be the least expensive but they are not that much more and their work is detailed and done correctly.

I could not have asked for a more respectful and considerate crew who did an outstanding paint job on our large house. Bob O'Brien is a master in all respects of keeping a watchful eye on his crew and our privacy/comfort while making our house look its best. I would be available to answer any questions from prospective clients should any wish to contact me. Call O'Brien and show him this offer and he can direct your calls to me. Elizabeth Waldron

O'Brien's crew did superb work. The prep work included a great deal of sanding, and was done better than I could have done it myself. His crew painted many windows, which look great! They were very careful to protect the furniture and floors, and to close off the areas being sanded (in case any of the old paint was lead-based). O'Brien painted the exterior of our house 15 years ago, using elastomeric as the first coat, followed by regular acrylic or latex. The exterior still looks great. The only parts that need touch-up are a few places where large cracks occurred in the underlying stucco, and three windows where the paint separated from the glass in a few spots. Elastomeric is clearly the way to go.

They were outstanding. Their explanation of what was necessary and what they were going to do was superb. The crew was fantastic. The quality of the work was A's across the board. I would absolutely use them again.

This was the second time in 23 years we hired O'Brien Painted to Last. While I don't remember all the details of 23 years ago, this latest job appears to me even better and even more thorough than the first, which was outstanding in its own right.
The thoroughness, technology, and just plain elbow grease that the crew applied to the job were exceptional. I am fairly handy and have done many repairs and paint work on my own, and have hired other painters for smaller jobs, but nothing compares to the professionalism and stamina of this 4-person crew. Day after day of scraping assisted with heat guns and electric sanders, gouging and fixing rotten wood, repairing shutters that had come unglued, taking apart deck railings, caulking and filling every crack in sight, every one of the crew remained ever friendly and personable. Every day they quietly assembled before eight and started work at the stroke of 8:00. Not an hour of work was missed in 10 working days.
When finally paint was applied in the last stage of the job, I was impressed by the modern masking technology and the absence of any accidents. To finish every last nook and cranny of windows, several window sashes were uninstalled and later put back, sometime requiring a lot of work.
Any major job like his will always have some unplanned extras that appear desirable after the bid has been accepted. Adding scraping and repainting of two decks and exterior benches were this job's extras and I was in no position to negotiate, yet the owner, Bob, charged reasonable rates and hours for the additional work. This despite the job having taken considerably longer than his original prediction, which suggests to me that he did not come out ahead. Bob's old-fashioned, handshake-based, yet thoroughly professional business practices fit well with the manifest work ethic of his crew.
If you consider a thorough paint job on an older house, or any exterior paint job for that matter, and you want the best quality, O'Brien is the firm to call. "Painted to Last" may sound oddly modest in this era of commercial superlatives, but I have found it true in the past when applied to O'Brien, and have witnessed it again in the work done over the past two weeks!
Do not hesitate to contact me for any additional details or questions or if you wish to arrange to see the finished work.
