When we had discussed the scope of work in the downstairs unit, it was very clear the amount of demo it needed - open one wall only to install interior door, remove water heater through the closet door, remove kitchen cabinets. After I returned from the funeral on Monday, I found my downstairs unit looking like a war zone with no electricity in my upstairs kitchen or the master bedroom. I have been forced to live in a non-functioning kitchen and bedroom for 3 days with my sister from overseas and my daughter visiting causing me undue anguish. He callously tore out electrical wires with no idea where electricity would go out upstairs, and had no back up plan, except that a electrician would come 3 days afterwards to fix things. He performed unauthorized demo and electricity that cost me $11500 to repair. Moreover, I had to take out City permits because of his unauthorized work which cost $2000.

This project was excellent. Super courteous and responsive contractor who has an extremely professional group of guys working with him. Their quality of work exceeded my expectations as did their timeline. I really appreciated their attention to detail, we had to have our walls textured to match the rest of the house, and you honestly cannot tell that these walls were not part of the original house. The workers were also really responsible with the rest of the house, they were careful not to damage the carpets and to keep the dust contained to the room that was being worked on. They were done before we expected!

Blue Jay Construction provides professional, and more importantly, high quality services. My wife and I had a couple other contractors perform minor house repairs. Theses individuals were not responsive and did not execute the contracted work appropriately. However, John and his crew are always professional, patient, and courteous. They effectively communicate to my wife and I the pros and cons of the varied options and costs related to the garage repairs. Blue Jay provided excellent results on this projects at our home at a fair price. We will continue to use this company and would recommend Blue Jay Construction to you without reservation.

John Nicklas was also invaluable in advising us of new wireless doorbell, light fixtures, and appliances. Completely reliable in being on time and doing high quality work. And, most importantly, discovering areas of the house that were rotting and hidden from view which had to be repaired or permanent damage would have been done.

Mr. Nicklas brought 4 workers with him and all materials needed. They started on Friday and finished the next Monday. They worked constantly and were very professional.

Great. From a quick 1 hour job to make my dryer work again to a complete renovation of a commercial space dealing with a really difficult inspector, John does it right, complete and with a great attitude and communication.
