Accurate Zone Heating & Air Conditioning

I called another company that had done service on out AC unit in 2002, a long time ago. The technician came out and told me the freon was gone and there must be a leak. He had no ability to find or fix the leak but could schedule a leak detection and repair the following week. The estimate was emailed from his company and was for almost $800 JUST TO FIND THE LEAK. No guarantee of ability to find the leak and no estimate of repair.
I promptly signed up for Angie's List and found Accurate Zone. Cindy was very nice on the phone and sent Juan out on Tuesday afternoon to investigate. He found that the freon was low but not completely out and that the previous technician had taken off the FAU covers. Juan also found a burned out relay board, which the previous technician didn't find or just didn't want to talk about because it wasn't mentioned. Perhaps this is how other companies gouge for more revenue. Misdiagnose, misinform and sell unnecessary repairs. But not so with Accurate Zone!
At this point, I trusted Juan and he quoted a very fair price to change out the burned out relay board.
He got the board and came back on Thursday to replace the board and found that there was no obvious leak in the system so he added freon (which is expensive but necessary) and didn't charge extra for the labor, only charged for the freon since he was already here doing service work. And, he changed out the outside valves (Shrader Valves) that allow adding freon to the system at no extra charge! This was amazing, surprising and wonderful to see that there is a caring individual who doesn't want to gouge at every opportunity.
In short, Juan fixed our AC unit in a timely manner, for a great price and did a thorough, clean and professional job. He and his trainee both wore shoe covers at all times while in our home and treated it better than anyone could. Accurate Zone is a delight to have service your home.

The air flow in our house is tons better now. For years, we put this job off because contractors gave us ridiculous information and
estimates. Accurate Zone knew what to do, did it quickly, efficiently, and professionally, and we now have proper heat and air in our rooms. They did a marvelous job with the new vents, by the way, We don't even notice them, and they look like they were always part of the house. I will never use anyone else for HVAC.

I had researched over 6 HVAC contractors and did not feel comfortable with all of them because 1. I knew they were over charging, 2. recommending work that was unnecessary., and 3. touting their NATE certificate like it gave them some sort of legitimacy to overcharge their work.
I was actually getting very discouraged because many of these other contractors were giving me bids ranging from $12K to $8K. I came across Accurate Zone on another website with reviews and I gave them a shot. First, Juan and Cathy (Juan's mother) were very responsive. They were good at responding to e-mails and Juan came out and performed the bid within 2 days.
Second, Juan not only does the bids, but also does the installation work as well. So if there were issues, you have the owner of the company there to speak with you.
Third, I was also in the market to replace a portion of my roof as well and Juan did a fantastic job of coordinating the work with my roofer.
The installation of my 4 ton, 13 seer, Rheem HVAC unit was completed in 3 days. He does take the time to make sure the job is done correctly (I have zero problems with this as many contractors could possibly rush through the work in 2 days).
Just to give you an idea how bad my duct system was, I had a green energy efficiency test on my old duct system and we were losing over 40-50% of the air through many holes in the ducts created by old rodents that ate away at my duct system. Most of that duct system was replaced and the new system only leaked less than 15% (Some of my duct system was inaccessible so Juan could not replace them. I believe the leak would have been less than 5% if a hidden vent was accounted for in one of my closets when they did the smoke testing). Either way, the inspector complimented Juan for a great job because the smoke test revealed that there were no leaks in the ducts he installed.
All in all, I highly recommended Accurate Zone HVAC. Juan and Cathy are fantastic to work with and my family appreciates their honesty and hard work to install our system for a very reasonable price. Thank you Juan and Cathy!
