U-Haul Moving & Storage of Redwood City

When I arrived to retrieve my U-Box, I was informed that the box fell apart -- the nails on all four corners broke free and the box literally fell apart, dumping my belongings onto the gravel. The staff at Delray Beach were very good and carefully placed my belongings into a different U-Box. Unfortunately, several items were damaged beyond repair and several items ended up missing. Total damage and missing amounted to a meager $363 dollars out of the $1800 spent to ship the box to Florida and the approximately $180 spent storing the box. The staf at U-Box storage in Delray Beach were upfront and honest with me, the box was of an older design and it fell apart when they lifted it with a forklift. I have been trying for almost three weeks to get U-Haul to send me a damage form so that I can initiate a claim for the damaged and missing items. I am beginning to feel that this company is stone-walling me. After all, how long does it take to send a piece of paper (the claim form)? I feel I am not being delt with in an honest manner by the home company. My loss is not a lot of money -- it is the principle -- their U-Box fell
