SIGNATURE HARDWOOD FLOORS

Bryant and his team were very professionals. Since we did the whole house at once, we had to moved everything! We were able to stay in the house during the carpet removal and floor installation. They were great working with us during that time. It wasn't very convenient but it saved us good money not having to move out during that time. We moved out for two weeks during the dusting and sealing part. Everything right on schedule. They were extremely reliable and the crew was very polite and easy to have around. We have two cats and they were very mindful not to let them go out. Bryant quote was not the lowest we got but the quality of work, courtesy of the crew and the wonderful quality of the work was worth every penny. Plus, we were not charged any extra money for the additional work they had to do with the plywood floor.

We hired Bryant and his company to install new hardwood floors in our kitchen and to sand and refinish the adjoining hw floors in our family room. They did a beautiful job matching the existing floors and the whole space looks great. Bryant and his crews are very personable and customer oriented. We are pleased we were referred to Signature Floors by a family member and will use them again when we have more floor work done.

A written extimate was provided along with an explanation of the work to be done. Work was done exactly as promised and all visits were punctually on time as committed. An absolutly 100% job performance. Very pleased!

Our concern was with the amount of buckling in our floor, due to a leaky roof. I would guess the amount of lift could have been up to 5 mm, over the damaged area approximately 3' x 5' (but could have been more). Bryant described to me his plan of attack fully and carefully, spending time to answer all of my questions about the process that was to be expected. On our floor, it turned out that only sanding was needed to remove the damage; no boards needed to be replaced. The process took nearly 4 work days, plus a few days for the material to cure. After their job Bryant told us we would need to retouch the paint on the base board, and some places on the walls, as this painting work is not provided as part of the flooring work. The painting was minimal, and we did it ourselves. The result was a smooth floor, with no roughness or ripples or unevenness over the whole area of floor and including the formerly damaged area. The look and color of the floor is lighter and brightens the room. Bryant and his crew took reasonable measures to keep the dust out of the kitchen cabinets and the halls, plus swept and vacuumed everyday, so I was happy with their management of the dust in the work area. The dust is so fine, however, and I could sense that I needed to vacuum and sweep more than normal over the few days following the job completion. I was impressed with Bryant's background and training in ecological and green alternatives, and we decided to go with a zero-VOC product. It gives more of a matte finish on the floor, which I think allows a nice appreciation for the wood and grain, and repairing scratches will be a breeze--no huge amounts of resanding and rematching borders of new/old areas necessary! The work crew was always on time each morning, always courteous and pleasant. They were especially patient when interfacing with my young child, who was on site a few of the days.

We used Signature years ago before being members of Angie's list. The living room in our house had carpet which was installed over hardwoods. The family room had carpet installed over linoleum that was glued down onto hardwoods below. They removed the carpet in both rooms, as well as ripping up the hardwoods in the family room as they were so hopelessly damaged by the glued linoleum. They also removed some of the boards in the living room that had been damaged by pet urine. They hauled away all the debris. At their suggestion they also sealed the subfloor in the family room and area of the living room where boards were removed to keep out urine odor. They brought in the new wood flooring a week or two before installing to allow it to acclimate to the humidity of the house. The project proceeded in two phases, finishing the family room first and then the living room afterwards, to allow the house to remain livable and so that furniture from one room could be put in the other while work was being done. Very happy with the quality of the work and the price. I had no idea what it was going to cost, and ended up spending less than half of what I feared it might be. Would definitely call them again if/when we refinish floors in other rooms.

Fantastic. Bryant showed up on time for the estimate, went over the floor very carefully, even though the house was empty (newly purchased) and answered all my questions. We had several problem areas where big screws had been put in the floor to hold down loose boards and the screws needed to be removed or countersunk, filled either way. He examined these carefully. When they took the screws out, it turned out the floor did not squeak (possible reason for putting them in), so the holes were filled with wood filler to match the floor (not that chewing gum gunk that some other firms use). They also installed wooden door sills at the kitchen and bath, and they look great. One 3' long floor board needed to be replaced after sanding as insect damage became apparent. We were not charged for this (other companies quoted $65/hr and up, plus labor for this kind of situation). The workers showed up on time, did a careful job, and finished on time. They also left us the extra cedar left over from the closets, most of a closet lining kit. They could have just pocketed this, and we would never have known, so we are impressed with their honesty and sense of honor! Bryant went over the whole house with me when the job was done (again, arrived right on time) and gave me the "unconditional waiver/mechanic's lien release" form on final payment (which I had asked for--you should always get one when a job is done). He and his crew clearly love what they do and take both aesthetic pleasure and professional pride in their work. The price was definitely right; I got bids ranging from $2,600 to more than $6,000. I was also unsure as to whether I should go with water or oil based finish, other contractors told me which they were using, but Bryant's crew put down sample patches after the first sanding so I could choose from a "real life" look at the floor.

The owner Bryant came out as scheduled to do the estimate. He was very professional and helped us in selecting the type of flooring and stain for our home. The work started as agreed to and was finished on time as per the original estimate. We have had many compliments on our floors since their installation.

One of the very best features of this company is their approach to dust containment. If you have ever refinished hardwood floors, you know how much fine dust the process generates. Signature personnel sealed off the area completely and somehow managed to prevent dust from sneaking into the rest of the house. The workmanship on matching the original wood floors is amazing. You cannot tell where the old ends and the new begins! We will use Signature Floors for all of our hardwood flooring needs. They responded promptly to our inquiry, were on time and on budget with their work and did a superb job. We are delighted.

Because of a kitchen remodel, they had to match and patch several areas of hardwood floor in our family room and hallway. I didn t believe they could do it because of the matching of the stains and the unusual patterns of the wood. They did it though and all in a week. It looks great. I would recommend them highly.

Project dragged on for weeks. They had major problem on the stairs. Installers were difficult to communicate with. Installer damaged wall. However company did negotiate final price based on damage to wall. Tried to communicate with this company later on, by fax and telephone. Never returned calls.

This company did a really good job. I was very pleased with this company. I was recommended to this company by a friend. They have also used this company. They will come back and fix anything with no complaints. The floor looks great. I would also recommend this company to others.

FINISHED, IT WAS VERY WELL DONE. PRICING WAS A LITTLE ABOVE OTHERS BUT THEY CAME RECOMMENDED BY OTHERS WE KNEW and THEY HAD REFERENCES OF RECENT JOBS FOR US TO CALL. THE PEOPLE WE CALLED WERE VERY HAPPY OVERALL. HAD ONE DIFFICULTY IN THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FLOOR AT THE WALL WHERE THE OLD HEATER WAS LOCATED, BUT THE RESULT WAS OK.

DIDN'T DO A COMPETITIVE BID. THEY DID THE WORK WHEN WE WEREN'T AT HOME. CAME THE DAYS THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO COME AND CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. PROJECT COMPLETED ON TIME.
