I contacted Miro to do an extension to the living room and remodel 1 bathroom + painting and hardwood floors. The work started in mid May and we had to move in by mid-june and it was not yet complete. Miro disappeared in the middle of June, and ignored all my phone calls, emails and texts. I had to go to his home to find him. Every time he disappeared he would make a new lie, like his cousin passed away (which he confessed later that it was not true). When he disappeared there was substantial work that was not complete, and more importantly I discovered that he did the work without getting the proper construction permit, even though it was listed in the contract. I also discovered that we did not have hot water because he installed the valves in the shower incorrectly and the hot water and cold water were mixed (I had hot water in the yard and cold water in the showers). We stayed without hot water for two months. I went on vacation in July and asked him to finish the house that week. When I came back, I found that he took all his equipment and all the jewelry of my late wife and kids were stolen. I am pursuing him in courts and with the Contractors Licensing Board. This person does not have any ethics whatsoever, and is very comfortable with lying and stealing.

I think they provide quality work, and they are extremely flexible. I had specific things (like a floor drain) and they accommodated that and put it in for me. I think their particular strength is that the can make something look high-end and luxurious for a modest budget. The weakness is that they sometimes overcommit and incur delays.

Although I purchased the Angie's List coupon in January 2012, the work didn't begin until June. Part of that was because Miro had other projects he was working on, and did not have crew available, and part of it was because I procrastinated in shopping for, and purchasing, the materials needed -- toilet, vanity, sink, bathtub, tile, lighting, fixtures, paint.
The work began on June 25. The estimate I was given was that it would take 10 days to 2 weeks. I was planning for the work to be complete by the time I left for a week-long conference July 13. The project actually got finished the 2nd week in August.
Since this small (5x8) bathroom was the only one in my small house, I had to move out to a friend's house for an extended time, quite a bit longer than I anticipated. Once the new toilet and bathtub had finally been installed, they put up some plastic sheeting so I could use the shower at night, but it was still weeks until things were done.
I believe Miro himself wants to do -- and is capable of doing -- quality work. But the same, unfortunately, could not be said of some of his workers. Some of the gaffes:
- Some days when they told me I would be able to use the new fixtures at night, they left for the day and didn't hook things up so I could use them.
- In the living room, somehow someone broke the wiring to one of my TV speakers and moved another one, then left everything as if nothing had happened
- They mixed up the wiring so that my main kitchen light was non-functional for more than a week until they could figure out what had been wrong
- They somehow punched a hole in my front screen door, then did such a poor job of fixing the screen that Miro agreed to pay for my taking it to a professional screen shop
- They installed the glass shelf under the bathroom mirror, but it wasn't centered. I had them re-do it, and it still wasn't centered. Finally, Miro did it himself, correctly.
- Because the project wasn't even close to done when I left for my week-long conference, I had them continue working while I was away. When I returned, I discovered that the power to the refrigerator had been off for days, and all the food inside was ruined. Miro agreed to pay for replacements.
I do have to say the tile guys did great work. And I ended up installing a couple of small parts of the fixtures myself.
Bottom line is that I have a new bathroom I really like. So it's a good ending.
But the project was much more of a headache than I anticipated. I think Miro was overextended on projects. He was hard to get in touch with, not returning emails or phone calls promptly on numerous occasions. And I think some of the workers he hired did not have the ability or commitment to do the level of work he wanted (though some did).
I'm happy with the result, but unhappy with the process.

we got a kitchen and lighting and flooring project done by Miro in 2010. The quality of the work and the interaction with him at the time was good. We had paid for the city permit to be pulled and for the inspection to be coordinated by him. We had also paid for him to buy and replace our fireplace door. We have tried for over a year now to get in touch with him to schedule the city inspection and have been given the runaround. It is now march 2012. We have not even seen the permit. I called the city and found that he pulled a permit in 2010 and was charged half the amount that we paid him. We had a good interaction with him while the work was being done but now we feel cheated by him and would not recommend him as a contractor for any of your projects.

Miro was extremely punctual . He was there at our house  , sharp at 8 to discuss his idea . By the time other contractors even got back to me , Miro had me sold over his idea and had begun his work. Miro is a team of one , very professional , he is a great communicator and also addresses the needs of the consumer . In the middle of our project , we were wondering if we could make some changes and he was ok about it and got it done incredibly fast . 
He was quick to get us the design , order the parts and within no time , install the floors . 
Everything was done to our expectation . We have no qualms about recommending his work .

Excellent! We had a few unexpected issues, but Miro handled them with no drama, and an easy attitude. His assistance, guidance, and expertise was greatly appreciated. He was helpful and a pleasure to work with. Miro & his crew cleaned up daily, and left me little to no inconveniences between days of work. He was punctual, communicative, and professional. His estimate was right on and reasonable, and was very willing to work with us when we threw in a change up mid-project. I would highly recommend his services.

Oustanding! Any problems or unexpected discoveries were identified and dealt with promptly and efficiently without delay to the projects.

We knew them from a prior job and knew we wanted to use them again. We involved them during planning; we wanted to use concrete and they helped us and gave us advice, including and staining samples. They gave us a not-to-exceed estimate for the work. We bought most of the (major) materials, they took care of all the construction materials. The project was scheduled to take eight weeks but lastet about two weeks more. These guys are very professional and their work is of hight quality. They have a very nice personality and are very trustworthy. They have a very nice taste and we were very happy with the outcome (you can see pictures on their website).

I interviewed three companies and chose this one. They were here quickly. It wasn't hard to get them to show up when the work was in progress. The two workers were very pleasant. They cleaned up well without mess. The project looks good.

We liked Nada a lot. He showed up on time, was honest about the fact that we didn't have a major problem, and didn't charge us a lot of money.

Contractor, Miro Popovich, has can-do attitude, is easy to work with and does quality work.

Very disappointed with quality and timing of job completion, after hiring based on high ratings.

Miro and Nada (partners) were recommended to me by friends. Their estimate was provided promptly and clearly. They gave me an estimated start date and showed up on time. Miro and Nada were nice, professional and did not pressure me into expanding my project. But they know their business and what makes sense. They showed me options, made suggestions and let me make the decisions. The suggestions that I did take turned out exceptionally well. Prompt, especially clean and professional. I felt I could trust them to work on my home when I was not there -which I did. I highly recommend Miro and Nada and will hire them again. I'm trying to get them to go to Florida to work on my home there!

I contacted Miro after learning about him from Angie's "A" list. He gave us the lowest quote of the four electricians we contacted. Miro and his wife (business partner) obtained the permit from our city and then came in to do the work. Miro's work is very neat, and he's affable and trustworthy. He took about one week to complete the work. He was also kind enough to replace an electrical face plate in another room,and further he responded later (after the work was complete) to a concern of ours regarding a non-functional outlet in the area where he worked, which turned out to have nothing to do with his job. Still, he was kind enough to fix this, too. He's a very nice guy, and I didn't feel like he was out to take advantage of us in terms of cost. I enjoyed having him in our home.

Was it done on time? Was it on budget? Yes, but our requested change orders increased the overall budget and timing. It was very easy to communicate with Miro. He was there working and involved on the job for 95% of working days, and only outsourced the shower doors to a specialist. He also always left the site every day very clean and organized. Don't let his slender body type and hip look mislead you because, you would not be disappointed in his work.

They were very good at doing the paperwork for us and helping us recreate a design for my bathroom. There were many hard choices and different varieties of things you could choose from and they helped us out a lot. The bathroom looks great.

Miro did excellent work on both jobs, at a very reasonable price.

The entire project was completed within a day. Went without a hitch.

Miro and his wife Nada did a great job. They are very friendly and trustworthy - we ended up giving them a key to the house. They are creative and their work is of high quality. They came in substantially lower on total price than any other offer we got. Yet they did exactly what they said. We made them commit the project in detail on paper and handled all changes through written change orders which was a good idea. We are very happy with the work they did and are currently hiring them again for the next project. Note: They are not currently licensed.
