Did a great job of fixing lots of problems with the old roof.  Particularly careful with tricky interactions between roof and stucco walls.

They did it within days after I called. They were very quick and efficient. I would recommend them. They always tell me what they were going to do.

Were very prompt in coming to see the job and provided an estimate the same evening.
Gave us a time frame when they would be doing the work and when the date was set they showed up every day first thing in the morning.
The crews who did the tear-off and the installation were fast, friendly and professional.
They obviously knew their jobs and performed them well and promptly.
It looked like a well-choreographed ballet on the rafters.
The result is a very well-installed roof.
They are a no nonsense, no overselling, reliable, honest company.

Gil Pena is a true professional! He and his crew arrived on time spent about a week working on our house. Gil's employees arrived on time, are well trained, hardworking, polite, and do beautiful work. They were incredibly neat; the men cleaned up at the end of each day. Some of the neighbors who were watching commented on how Gil and quot;definitely knows what he's doing.and quot; The guys broke a window, taped up the glass, and replaced it. Would definitely hire them again and will be referring Golden to others.

They were very professional and worked efficiently and on time. We used them in the midst of a major remodeling project and they were one of the best companies.

In one word - WOW! This roof was turned down by two roofing companies because of the steepness of the roof. We got five proposals for the job and this price was approximately one half the price of a local roofer and ONE THIRD the price of a roofer on the peninsula. This was the lowest bid and before we decided to go with Golden Roofing - we reviewed their ratings on Angies list and their reputation from the Better Business Bureau. When we discussed how long this job would take - it was approximately 3-4 days. They completed this job in TWO DAYS!! Mr. Pena and his crew of more than ten roofers attacked this job and it passed the city inspection with flying colors. I would recommend Golden Roofing to any homeowner in the bay area!

I like the price that they charge, they do very good work, the only thing is that sometimes it takes a while for them to return my calls. they have done several jobs for me over the pas 30 years.

They have been pretty good. The guy was very flexible and pretty honest. He didn’t even take any money in advance; he took the payment only after the job was done. The only caveat of course is that I have not inspected the work. It has been raining, and so far it has been good. I believe a year should pass to make sure that everything works out. It looks like it is working. The price was good. I think their punctuality was fine. When I was researching them on Angie’s List, I didn’t find much information about them. I ended up talking to other people, and that is how I got comfortable with them. I would recommend them and would use them again in the future if necessary.

I was initially recommended to Golden by my neighbor who is a real estate agent and uses them for all her rental properties and her own house. I had a few roofers out to do an estimate, and Golden came by promptly and spent about 45 minutes with us taking measurements and discussing options. But no estimate ever came! I called back 2 weeks later and Gil came out (the other guy was not Gil) and did the estimate again, and promptly had an estimate in my email the next day. Their estimate was a bit lower than the others I got and came with a good warranty, so I went with them. When I called them to schedule the work, they were ready to start the next day! They showed up with the usual army of workers to get things done as quickly as possible. I'd say the whole job took about 5 days. The workers were very well-mannered and cleaned up after themselves about as good as possible after each day. I was always able to reach Gil on the phone quickly if I needed him. The work they did was really excellent, they fell a little short on some of the communication. While it was clear that they knew what to do and how to do it, they weren't always good in being able to explain why they were doing certain things. For example, choice of roof ventings, certain roof/gutter interactions, etc. It all turned out well, but there are some contractors who are much better at making you feel good about how the job is going to go. The job itself turned out extremely well. I definitely feel we got a good value and I had a good experience with Golden overall. I would recommend them and use them again, although I hope to not have to get a new roof anytime soon! Ask for Gil right away -- he is by far the best guy there to deal with.

I WAS SO SURPRISED WHEN GOLDEN ROOFING WAS ABLE TO COME RIGHT OUT AND HAD MY HOME RE-ROOFING JOB COMPLETED IN ONLY A FEW DAYS. I APPRECIATED THE FACT THAT THEY CLEANED UP AS THEY WENT.

People were nice they did a good job. I have never had any leaks or anything. I am still enjoying my roof and if I ever needed another one I would probably call them. I thought they were very professional and reliable. I have never had any problems and so far I have been satisfied.

I HAD A MIXED EXPERIENCE ON ONE HAND, THEY DID A GREAT JOB ON THE ROOF AT A REASONABLE COST. I HAD THE WORK INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT RETIRED ROOFER TO MAKE SURE THE WORK WAS DONE RIGHT AND IT WAS. THE AREAS WHERE I HAD PROBLEMS WERE IN COMMUNICATION A MAJOR DECISION ON A HOG VALLEY RECONSTRUCTION WAS MADE WITHOUT LAYING OUT THE OPTIONS FOR ME CLEARLY IN ADVANCE AND I HAD TO ACCEPT THE OUTCOME WHEN IT WAS ALREADY DONE. ALSO I ASKED THEM TO REPLACE A PIECE OF WOOD ON A ROOF PEAK THAT WAS ROTTEN AND TO THEIR CREDIT THEY DID REPLACE IT VERY NICELY, BUT I HAD TO INSIST ON HAVING IT DONE. ORDERING THE SKYLIGHTS WAS PROBLEMATIC, BUT THAT WAS DUE TO VENDORS AND NOT TO GOLDEN ROOFING. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM OF OBTAINING SKYLIGHTS HAS NOW BEEN PUT BACK ON ME. I HAD WATER DAMAGE FROM THE EXISTING SKYLIGHTS NOT BEING MADE WATERTIGHT WHILE WE WAIT FOR NEW ONES. GETTING FOLLOW UP ATTENTION TO THIS HAS BEEN REALLY DIFFICULT.

I was extremely pleased with them. I would rate them higher than an A if possible. I would refer this company to anyone. This company cleaned up after themselves daily. There was no mess at all. We would have no clue that they were even working.
