Boudreau Plumbing and Heating

We had a problem with out furnace. I was able to make an appointment with Boudreau within a day or two. The technician they sent was prompt, knowledgeable and very knowledgeable. He fixed our furnace with just a single trip (had the needed part in his truck) and we were able to enjoy Thanksgiving with heat in our house.

Glenn from Boudreau gave me faith in plumbers (and tradespeople in general) again. He was the third plumber to visit after two others came, assessed and never provided quotes. He was exceptionally professional and went above and beyond. He raised the waste pipe, installed new shut-offs for the hot and cold, re-installed the vanity and installed the proper drain for the vanity (the previous owners had mickey moused it). The kicker was that he had a pop-up drain with him, but it wasn't the right finish. So, he went and got the right one. I've found that almost every "professional" that shows up just wants to get the work done and get out -- sloppy work or work that doesn't look good counts in their view. But Glenn understood that I'd be looking at this every day and wanted to do it right. And now, I'll be calling Boudreau the next time I have need for a plumber (and I've recommended him and Boudreau to neighbors).

the water pipe from the Cal Water connection to the house connection came loose.  They showed up within minutes of
my call (on a Saturday!) and fixed it right away, after apologizing that it would cost extra for weekend service.  Well worth
the weekend surcharge to have water running inside my house, not outside (I did in fact turn off the valve so didnt waste
any).

He did some work within the last several months. They are very reliable, do really good work and can be counted on. They are not cheap, but you get the value for your money. They provide good service.

Nothing to tell. They did the job quickly and professionally.

They did the work in less than a day and at a price just a little over 1/3 of what a 24 hour service provider would have charged.
Val remembered that he had replaced a house water shut-off valve about 15 years ago and marched right to it. He was informative about the options, and was pleasant and friendly. He lightened the atmosphere around an unpleasant problem.
Margarito impressed me with his diligent work and knowing just what needed to be done.
This is my first review. I'm pleased that I can share my experience of their excellent service.

My parents used this plumbing service, and they remain prompt, professional and hard working. THey were on time, thoroughly explained all the work done, and left the place clean.

The pipes leading to our water heater were so corroded that they flooded our garage. We got several quotes. Boudreau was not the cheapest but they were the most professional.
They gave us recommendations and many alternatives. We need to eventually replace all the pipes in the house. They did the repair and we have had no issues.
Two weeks later we our washer flooded the garage. They came and roto routerd the pipes, replaces a section of the piping and everything has been working fine ever since.

The plumber is very friendly. They do a good job.

It went well. He answered all questions I had about installation and quality of the disposal unit that I authorized him to put in (I had a lot of questions) and did a quality job quickly.

The drain from the back yard to the curb was clogged and the yard filled with water. I knew that the clog was within 10 feet of the street. Val came and could not clear it from the street end with his drain rooter and this made him act annoyed. He came a second time, did nothing, but said I needed a clean-out. I had the landscaper come, who did not have a rooter tool, and he dug up the 3" plastic pipe, cut it open about 10 feet from the street and sure enough, it was filled only with leaves and mulch from the yard - about a 5 foot section. The landscapers pulled it all out and it now flows freely, no thanks to Boudreau.

Very well. Sewer backed up on Sunday, I called Boudreau and (once they asked if Monday would be okay), they said Paul would call at 7:30am to schedule. He called promptly, and said they could be here between 10 and 11 am. However, they appeared at 9:30 and the job was finished by 10, which allowed me to get to work earlier.

I've used this company twice for three jobs, 2 plumbing and one HVAC. Overall comments are that they are good plumbers and not great in HVAC repair. All service men arrived on time. For plumbing work, they are a bit on the expensive side but the quality of work so far is very good. The HVAC experience was different. My AC actually cools down the house but trips the house breaker once a while. I wasn't sure whether the AC or the electric panel caused the problem. The repair person first tried to up sell me services to drain out the unit, clean the ducts and then refill it with refrigerants. When asked for an estimate, he can only say it starts at a minimum of 5 hours of labor (~600-700 dollars) and he couldn't be sure about the maximum. Another option he provided is to get a completely new unit. Of course, I wouldn't get myself into either ridiculously expensive option. I asked him to top off the Freon and plan to find an electrician to check out. He persisted in pushing a gadget that's supposed to help with the AC unit's power consumption. I relented in the end and bought the part and the labor to install it. Total for the HVAC job was over $300 including about 2 hours of labor and parts. The AC behaved as it did before for 1 week. Finally I called an electrician. He figured out the problem faster than I can explain. 45 minutes and $160 later, he upgraded the electrical panel and everything has been working beautifully. I think the conclusion on this particular HVAC service call is either (1) the employee was honestly lacking knowledge and expertise in this area or (2) he just tried to bring business in.

Did a great job. Very reposnsive and went the extra mile to make sure the situation was safe when they had to return the next day to complete the repair. The gas line repair was a little tricky, the leak was right where the line passed through the floor- Paul explained what current code would require and added the necessary changes during the repair, making the connection safer and easier to repair in the future. Also fixed a leak they noticed in the water heater supply while they were here.

They do great work. They were quick to respond. They gave me an estimate. When the work was finished, the price I actualy paid was less than the estimate. I was very impressed.

They did a great job and were on time. The cost was very reasonable, and he gave me a free drain cover. We no longer have a leak in our garage. The other quote we received was for $1005. The plumber was very nice.

They made an appointment for the next day. Val arrived on time. Rather than replace the whole valve assembly which would have been a 15 minute job, he disassembled the new assembly and put just the new valve in the old assembly. When that still leaked, he disassembled the whole thing AGAIN and put in the whole new assembly. The next day I had to do more adjusting because it still continued to run. Just a few screw adjustments. I had wanted him to do additional work but I did not because I did not feel he was efficient.

We were very concerned to see huge bubbles of paint filled with water on our dinette ceiling. Water was dripping from around the fire sprinkler. We called Boudreau's emergency number (it was Sunday night) he couldn't come out that night but made an appointment for the next day. He reassured us that it wasn't the fire sprinkler because that water would be under pressure and this was just drips. I decided to wait. Paul was early for his appointment, told us he might have to take the ceiling apart but wanted to explore and think about it before he went to that extreme. Ended up avoiding that mess; he discovered that although the faucet wasn't dripping upstairs, it wasn't totally turned off and was dripping back out. After a thorough inspection, he turned off the faucet and voil , the leak was fixed!

The replacement of the faucet went as expected (and it was quick). The only two odd things: (1) He took the old faucet without asking me (it was an expensive faucet); (2) He was not terribly friendly (not a big deal).

They did an excellent job. They arrived when they said they would, and finished the work promptly. They did the job neatly with a minimal disruption to the driveway. They were professional and courteous.

We've used Boudreau for some plumbing work in the past and had a good experience with them, so we called them when we needed to replace some of our heating and air conditioning units. Carlos and his team were terrific. Their estimates were detailed and fair; they seemed to know what we needed and didn't try to sell us more than our house required. The men who came out to do the work were wonderful - punctual, polite, and professional. They were unable to install a filter in one of the units due to the configuration of the house, but they promised to come back to figure out a way to do that (we will update this review when they do). We highly recommend them!
