B & A Roof Inspections & Repair

We were introduced to Rick when we purchased our house several years ago. Not only was his assessment accurate when we bought our house, but we were so impressed with his knowledge that he is now the expert we trust for any assessments and repairs. He has fixed a few spots on our roof, highlighted poor installations of electrical by other contractors (and helped address), and does general maintenance on our roof (cleaning, etc.). For instance, we had a plumbing contractor install a vent that wasn't fully sealed. Rick inspected it and recommended the appropriate repair. His prices are fair, and he shares his expertise and knowledge freely. He is also on time and available when needed. We strongly recommend using Rick for your roofing needs.

A&B did a complete job and even pointed out some areas that other inspectors missed.  This was done quickly but not rushed and the inspector was forthcoming about what he found and other useful information.
The written 2 page report came quickly and covered the items found as well as expert opinion on what might become a leak.  I would have liked to see a bit more impressive document for the court with a better editor as some of the text might not be correctly understood by a layman. But it did the job and a full refund was ordered by the court.
It might also help, if the inspection service and the repair service were separated so a conflict of interest could not be implied.  Another inspection stated that he was now unable to work on the roof he had inspected - which impressed the court.

We went into contract on two large homes that are older ( > 50 yrs old but well maintained). The person who scheduled our inspection was great----responsive, got us an appointment at last minute, friendly and helpful. Rick who did the inspection is a real pro----his knowledge is outstanding, he's straightforward and explains any issues, he's helpful and friendly, he has the customer's best interest in mind. Rick's roof inspection on both homes were validated by the general inspector and were key in determining whether we bought the houses or not. We will definitely have Rick do the minor repair work on our roof..
His rates are fair.  Not the cheapest.  But his quality and integrity are very high.   So the value for money is definitely there.

The lady who answered the phone was very sweet. She explained what the process is and how much in minimum if I would need Rick to repair it right away. I really like that. Not only Rick got the job done but also he is very professional and considerate. He called before he arrives and much on time we scheduled. He asked if I wanted him to take off his shoes!! He also recommended a guy who can fix my damage ceiling. I'm so glad I found this company.

We had 2 leaks in our roof. Rick found that one was due to a clogged gutter overflowing back into the house, so he cleaned out the blockage. In the process he found that the chimney wall had wood visible from the outside, so he sealed that as well. The other leak seemed to be due to some tiles that were lifted by the wind exposing the felt below. He resealed the tiles and told me to watch through the upcoming storms to confirm that the problem was solved and after two days of very strong winds and rain, I don't see any sign of more water coming in. Rick also checked around the roof, found and sealed one cracked tile and reset the position of another tile which had slipped out of place exposing the roof near a vent which could have leaked as well. He was very thorough. I think his minimum charge of $275 was very reasonable and I trust the work that he did.

It was great. They were very responsive. They did exactly what they said they would do. Their general attitude was really good. They really came across as experts and we didn?t think they were going to gouge us. They were very fair with the pricing. We will absolutely use them again.

They did an excellent job for us and we would use them again in the future if we needed to.

Very fast service, and effective (so far . . .). Reasonable prices.

In the winter, I had Rick come over and temporarily fix some of the leaks. This summer I had roof and re-roofing estimates. Rick had done a good job with the temporary fixes which were reasonably priced. He came back and repaired the many problems with the roof and explained what was wrong and how he was going to fix it. The roof is quite steep and there are skylights and some things were not done properly in the first place and had to be repaired which took a lot of time. He was very exacting and careful. He is easy to talk with and will answer and explain why he recommends things. I plan to call him back in a few years for another roof inspection.

Overall we had a positive experience. It's difficult to know the quality of the work but we did receive a two-year warranty. So far no problems.
