"We do charge by the hour. I am glad the work was performed to your satisfaction and that you are enjoying your new oven. The reason we rarely give written estimates is that there are a lot of unknowns when adding wiring to an older home. We do our best to give you a ballpark price but sometimes there are unforeseen issues."
Greg did a quick and efficient job.
The thing that is troublesome for me is that you don't pay at the time of service and they invoice you.
Greg was here exactly 2 hours and 1 week later I received a non itemized invoice for way over what the price should be per hour and with a few parts.
I called John at billing and because of the holiday they said they would get back to me. He was very polite.
I have had a great experience so far but I am curious to see how they resolve this over charged invoice.
The technician arrived Tuesday afternoon and had me reexplain the whole job. He wanted to be sure I didn't just want to have a remote for the fans, that I needed a wall switch. We are a busy household, a remote would get lost, so yes, I needed a wall switch for each fan. He went into the attic to check things out. Originally I wanted 3 fans hung, one in each of our 3 bedrooms. However, our master was an addition and the electrician had no attic access to it so we settled on 2 fans, one in each of the other bedrooms. The technician began working and after a couple of hours realized he COULDN'T FINISH in one afternoon since the company had scheduled him to have ANOTHER CALL after mine. So he mounted the ceiling fans but they weren't powered and the switches weren't installed. He called his boss who said they wouldn't be able to finish the job until THURSDAY at 10 am.
On Thursday, 10 am comes and goes, 10:30 passes, then I call the office. I asked where the technician was. They said "Oh, he'll be there around 11am". So then the technician calls me at 11 and says "Hey, can I get lunch before coming over?" NO!!! You can't! You already made me wait two days and then you have the balls to ask to come even later! WHAT?!! So then he gets here and wires some more and then his co-worker arrives to help finish the job. The only reason the job got finished Thursday was that I called John and left him a message telling him I was going to pay for their current work and not let them finish on another day. No more calls after mine. Finish my job, THEN go to the next one. Or reschedule! If they had told me up front it would take two days to do I would have called someone else.
In summary: John Zimmerman over schedules his technicians and over promises on their time. He should learn to treat his customers and his employees with more respect.
"I apologize for not having this project completed in one day. I do my best to schedule jobs with little down time for the electricians and sometimes jobs take longer than what is anticipated."
Will never call them again!!
"I am happy we solved your problem in such a timely matter. If we were notified of other issues when we were there we would have been more than happy to take a look at them. I am sorry you had to have another company come back out for an unrelated issue-sometimes my crystal ball doesn't work as well as it should!"
