Computer Repair
Initial callback said it was the power supply - a reasonable estimate was given. Two days later, after replacing both power supplies, he called with bad news - it was the mother board. Very expensive - the worst case scenario we had seen in our research. Verified with other iMac users that price was reasonable and gave the go-ahead for the work. We were credited for the 2 power supplies but also ended up needing a new fan. The labor portion of the charge was only $125 - not much considering how many hours he worked on it. All told, the computer was in repair shop for 10 days.

Computer Repair
This was a mystery job. Nobody else could figure out what was wrong with it. It took him a couple of times, but he finally got it right and he didn't charge me for the additional time he had to spend on it.
