In the past I had excellent luck with them, but the last two jobs have been barely acceptable. First call was for range hood - the first person they sent out tried to do it alone and botched the job pretty badly. Followup crew did an excellent job doing it correctly. For the security door install I mentioned my most recent experience, and nicely but strongly asked them not to send the person that botched the range hood job. Then they sent that same person out. This person wanted to reverse the door swing to avoid banging front door and security door handles, but reluctantly installed it in the standard orientation after I told them I'd just get new knobs for the security door with enough clearance. The initial install on the door was badly skewed to the point where the security door was sticking on the bottom plate.. they said, that would be a good way to keep the door from swinging open unexpectedly. That was not what I wanted, so he banged on the frame for awhile and _barely_ got it so it didn't catch on the bottom plate. of course I figured since it's a wood door frame in a stucco building, there might not be enough clearance when the weather changed humidity. Sure enough that's what happened, but by that time I was too frustrated to have them come back _again_. So now the door stick enough that it bangs a bit when you close it, but that's not the end of the world.

I told the company twice that i lived in a mobile home and they said they would send someone that new how to work on mobile homes. however, they didn't because the man that came did not do carpeting and the majority of mobile home stairs are carpeted. I should have called the company and told them to send someone else. he told me it would be cheaper to use concrete instead of wood so I did that. in hindsight, I think using concrete was a very bad idea. I agreed to it but since all the other steps are wood with carpeting on top, i think it will end up looking funny. he gave me some glue to glue on the carpeting but it doesn't say it doesn't say it's good on concrete. I've decided to have a friend of mine look at it to see if i should glue on the carpeting or not. after he put the stair in, he suggested that someone else sand down the other steps and cover them with a coating, i don't remember what he called it. he pour the left over cement in my front yard and tried to cover it up but it's obvious that the dirt has been dug up in that spot. it's also the spot that i planted some flower bulbs but they weren't above the ground so he had no way of knowing that. he left his trash bag, which was very heavy, in the front yard and i had to lift it into my trash can. if he had asked me where he could put it, i would have asked him to put it in my trash can. He did a good job in making the step but i think it might be wider than the other step was so i think i will have to buy more carpeting if i decide to cover it with carpet. this company is very expensive. they do not give free estimates. if they quote a price and you decide not to do the work right then, they charge $85. However, if you want them to do the work on another day, they will credit $50 back to you. The company was very good in communicating. they texted and emailed me and even called me the day before to remind me and make sure i still wanted them to come and they called me afterwards to ask me how the technician did. They don't contract out the work, their workers are employees of the company. They also guarantee their work. When they called me after the project was done, I told them i wasn't sure i made the best decision with the concrete and they said if it doesn't work out for me to let them know becasue they guarantee their work. He said they don't install carpet so i don;t know if any of their workers could have done that. In the future, i will stick with mobile home contractors. I was happy that they let me pay with a check.

No receipt was given so now I can't register it for the warranty. He wouldn't advise how much the unit cost.

Handyman sled for the money in advance saying he was going to Home Depot and never came back to complete the work. He stole the money practically and never came back and he doesn’t answer the phone and doesn’t reply to my text messages anymore.

Total rip off. Charged me 3 times what should have been charged for such basic simplistic work. No offer to complete the full project that I was seeking done. Simple baseboard replacement and painting. I feel ripped off and left to do it on my own. I Do not recommend this company.

The handyman was fantastic. They do charge by the hour and him going back and forth with getting supplies really inflated the price. I paid an extra three hours because his company credit card was not activated and he kept trying to call them to activate it.

"Hello! We are very glad that you had a great experience with the technician. We did not charge you for the extra shopping time. We will have our manager call you to demonstrate that on the bill. Thank you for using our service!"

Perfectly - the gentleman who came to our house was Ed. He was ahead of schedule, professional, kind, etc. I purchased material that was not "correct" and he was able to make it work and match the existing PERFECTLY! I estimated about 4 hours and he got it all done in about 2 hours. He was respectful and professional. Great experience and great work done by Ed at Mr. Handyman.

Chris DeLong from Mr. Handyman had a great personality and he was obviously qualified. The process was easy, he got right to work, and he did a very thorough job. My only complaint is that the company is expensive, and I knew i could have gotten better pricing elsewhere. However, the fact that they jumped on the job the same day I called is worth the extra dollars.

The appointment was at 8:30am, which turned out not in the system properly. I had to call office only to get somebody in at 10:30am. The job was fair. The manner was professional. I do not quite understand how the billing works. My understanding for 3.5 hours of work was $310(first 2hours, including Service Charge) + $62*3(additional 1.5hours)=$496, but on the invoice I received by e-mail later, it said "3.5 hours + SC=$528". I mailed them a question, but have not heard from them. I got 10% discount for Angieslist, which was nice.

In the midst of a decline in customer service, this gives me great pleasure to write about my 2-day experience with Mr. Handyman. I needed my small kitchen painted as well as a few other jobs that needed taking care of. Basically, I needed professionals to tidy up what the previous person I hired jacked up or neglected to finish. Thankfully, I met Dan, who restored my kitchen back to health. As Dan painted, Jason did the electrical/lighting work. Overall, I am very pleased with Dan & Jason's professionalism, honesty, and work ethic. They were neat and careful in their preparation of my kitchen. I would definitely recommend Mr. Handyman, especially Dan and Jason, two genuinely nice, real people. Yes, it was a little pricey but paying a little more and knowing you're getting quality A+ work that will last is worth every cent. Consequently, I learned to always seek high-quality services first rather than settle for an unreliable, 4th rate jack-leg. From my initial call to Mr. Handyman to the end of the project everything was right on!

Worked very fast and was efficient. I felt the work was A. The B rating is for some inconsistencies in communication. When I first called, the experience was great. I gave my list and was told to continue to think about other things I wanted done within the two hour time frame. The second phone conversation the person mentioned how "[they]are not supposed to make appointments - meaning the employees I guess (I felt a bit embarked at him talking negatively about his staff and that was something internal that I did not need to know. Anyway I tell him my list again and this time he says that it seemed my list would take the entire two hours. Fast forward to day of my appointment- it took about 1 1/2 hours (probably because I took the time to get the parts from Lowes and was prepared). Unfortunately I still had to pay for 2 hour minimum as agreed up front. I just wished I would have had more stuff on my list which I would have if I listed to the first guy. I would hire again based on punctuality, quality of work. Lacking a bit of professionalism airing dirty laundry to customer. Price is B because I paid 2 hours for 1 1/2 hours work done. I feel better communication I would have been prepared.

"Hello! Thabk you so much for your kind review! We are a little confused about the one item - that someone you spoke with said "employees don't schedule appointments." All of our staff schedule appointments, so we're not sure what that means. It's possible you reached our after-hours answering service (which also can make appointments) and spoke with a new, inexperienced operator. Either way, we apologize for the confusion. We will call you to offer a discount for the half hour of work you didn't use. Thank you for using our service!"

Our Handyman, Daniel Martin, showed-up right on-time and did an excellent job installing our new air conditioner. This was for the non-standard sliding "casement-type" window. The job required some modifications in order to make it fit and Daniel was able to get the job done in a reasonable time and the installation worked out great! I rated everything an "A" except the Price, which I rated a "B" since it is a bit more expensive than most other Handyman services, but the job was well done and we did get the Angie's-List discount. Thanks for a job well done, Daniel!

Eddy was meticulous and quiet during his work. My wife and I both worked from home on the day of our appointment so Eddy's quiet was a blessing during conference calls. I would hire Mr. Handyman again any time I needed some stuff adjusted or fixed around the house. Fantastic job!

needed repairs to 4 things
handyman did 2 projects and took the pieces to pick up parts to complete other 2 projects.  He never called back or returned with the parts.  We waited 1 month and called Handyman to see what was wrong, spoke with a rep who promised he would call back in an hour, never called back.  Went on line to chat live, no help.  Received a sales email about services and prices from our email request for help.

Although the work on the 2 projects that were completed were okay, I would never hire this company again because of their lack of follow through, expensive cost and terrible customer service on the phone and through email

"First, I'd like to apologize for the communications problems. We had a new staff member in our office who was training in the month of April, and he is no longer with us. We found he was intentionally not returning calls. His replacement is excellent, and we will be monitoring the situation to make sure this inexcusable event does not occur again. Second, we would like to offer you a free hour of our services for your trouble. We remember having trouble reaching you on your line, and we are trying again now, but please feel free to give us a call as well. We are terribly sorry for the hassle, and hope to make it up to you!"
