They had three employees come out; they completed the work in about two or three days. It was poor quality. They didn't glue the seams and there was gaps in the wood. They floored up against the carpet and the border was not straight. When they delivered the wood they put it in the garage and during the installation they said we were supposed to put it in the house. They didn't explain to the contractor or us that the wood needs to acclimate. I had to do my demoing of the floor.
Response from Brian's Hardwood Floors
"Our Company is in Redondo Beach, CA and we are not affiliated with Lumber Liquidators or any hardwood store. There is another Brians out of Long Beach I believe. We did not do your job and would appreciate if you would delete this review and direct it to the right company."

The team was very professional and fabulous.  I had a tight deadline and they jumped to it.  They were meticulous about color matching the hardwood stain to the engineered wood I chose - pickier than I even was about it, I was ok with the first option they presented me with but they kept at it until they got a better color match.  What really impressed me was that after installation, I wanted my cable wires placed behind the baseboards - they came right away and completely replaced the baseboard and hid the cable wires free of charge, even though I hadn't specified my desires before installation.  Very professional and did an excellent job.

They did a great job. I think they did the right thing with our floors. We did not know necessarily what to do with the floors but they look great now, the stains are not very noticeable and we like the color and everything about it.

Brian is a unique contractor.  He does what he says he'll do when, where and how he said he would do it. The  went above and beyond to make a quality installation.  My engineered floor was nailed as well as glued.  It is solid!  If I had to use one word to describe his lead installer it would be "precision." I wish I could remember his name.  Unlike many other tradesmen, this lead installer was a true craftsman.
I would use Brian's again without a second thought.

Continuing the above comments, Brian's brought in  additional crew as required,  allof whom were highly skilled, dedicated , hard working professionals. The end result is a flooring job that  exceeded expectations and with which we are completely satisfied. The owner, Brian, was on site to evaluate the job on three occasions and was very attentive to our needs. All the Brian's  staff was a pleasure to work with.

My husband and I recently purchased our first home and had Brian's Hardwood Flooring refinish the existing white oak floors, and demo a small tiled walkway and place white oak to match.  Brian himself came out to give the estimate.  We received a detailed estimate by email. The workers were great, finished the job early, and the floors look fantastic.  The installed white oak matches the original wood perfectly.  While the job was underway, we were notified that there were some wood boards that had to be replaced due to pet stains.  Again, the wood matches perfectly.  The price was a bit high, $4,000 for a 1400 sq ft house.  Also, there was a $100 change order charge to replace the pet damaged wood.  And they charge a 2% fee every time you use your credit card.It is difficult to get ahold of the office as the office closes every day at 3PM.  I had to call to follow up to figure out when the workers would need access to the house, or when I needed to be at the house to sign off on work.  The job was finished early, sort of.  I called the office to find out if we can walk on the floors.  I was told yes, you can walk on the floors, the job is finished.  Later that same day, my husband went over to the house and saw that the dust was not cleaned, the baseboards were not replaced and there were two large bags of construction trash in the back yard.  I called the office and left a message asking about whether the job was truly finished.  I received a prompt call back the next morning, saying that there was a miscommunication between the work crews and that the items that remained would be finished that same morning.  I appreciate the responsiveness and the willingness to correct the problem, but I think that, for the price, these types of miscommunications should not happen.

Great job. Very happy with the end result. We had a very uneven floor upstairs. They lowered some parts and shimmed up others to give us a very level floor throughout without losing head room. They replaced stair treads. The only issue we had was that we didnt have enough time to choose the stain we wanted. We would have liked to try out a few more colours. Other than that I would highly recommend them.

We had been referred to Brian's by another contractor. I attempted to contact them through their website -- this was the only glitch as I received no response to my email and we almost went with another contractor thinking they were disinterested in our small job. A phone call yielded better results. Kim at the shop was very helpful and informative. Brian arrived promptly to look at our job and give us an estimate. He was friendly and informative. His estimate was competitive with others we received. The team was great -- prompt and hardworking. We were delayed one day by an illness but the job otherwise went smoothly. They did a great job of matching our new wood to the sanded and re-stained existing hardwood and were thorough in their cleanup. When we saw what we thought was a black scratch in our new floor 3 days after installation, they were concerned and prompt to respond. We were all relieved to find it was just a persistent scuff and buffed out without problem. We were very pleased overall and would use or recommend them again!

I was not pleased with the service. They didn t go all the way to the edge and left gaps between the planks. When we asked them to fix them, they wouldn t. That upset me and made me feel like the company was very unprofessional. I will not use them again because of the lack of detail and quality in their work.

BRIAN HIMSELF OVERSEES THE WORK BY COMING BY THE "JOB SITE" ONCE IN AWHILE, IF EVER, AND HIS OFFICE TAKES ALL MESSAGES, AND QUESTIONS FOR HIM. COMMUNICATION THEREFORE SUFFERS GREATLY, AND UNLESS YOU KNOW THE PROCESS OF INSTALLING HARDWOOD FLOORS, YOU'RE AT A LOSS FOR ANSWERS. THE CREW BRIAN ASSEMBLED WERE WONDERFUL, AND THEIR WORK WAS EXCELLENT. NO MATTER THE EXCELLENT FLOOR WE RECEIVED WE WOULD NOT USE BRIAN'S OR RECOMMEND HIS COMPANY AGAIN. IT'S NOT WORTH THE FRUSTRATION.

BRIAN'S DID A GREAT JOB. THEY FINISHED EVERYTHING IN ONLY FOUR DAYS. THEY CAME IN AND DEMOED ON A FRIDAY, RETURNED ON WEDNESDAY AND WERE FINISHED BY FRIDAY. THE WORKERS WERE PROMPT AND READY TO GO EVERY DAY AT 8:00. OUR OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT.
