I dropped off my truck on 12-15-09 and I picked up the rental the same day. This was an insurance job so Jay was paid in FULL 12-17-09. I thought this would be a 1 or 2 week process at the most. After 4 weeks my rental coverage ran out and I had to start paying for it out of my pocket. I let Jay know and he said he was not paying for it. I kept telling him I needed my truck back and that I could not afford the $25 a day for the rental. He told me the truck would be done on wednesday (1-20-10), I went to the shop on wednesday and he was still putting on the bedside. I told him to give me a real date to pick up my truck, he said saturday for sure. (1-23-10). Well come saturday he sent me a text saying he was going to need until sunday. Come sunday he said monday, come monday he said tuesday, come tuesday he said wednesday. On wednesday I sent him a text letting him know that done or not I was picking up my truck on thursday afternoon. At this point he had already had my truck for over 7 weeks and I had to pay $450 in retal fees out of my pocket. I finally picked up my truck thursday afternoon (1-28-10). Jay was not there so he had parked it outside his shop for me to pick up. When I got there I walked around the truck and noticed that he did a terrible job applying seam sealer where the bedside attatches to the floor. I could have done a better job applying it. I also noticed that where the bedside attatches to the header panel he completely missed painting it, you can see primer and burns from welding. The tail lights and turn signal lights in the rear do not work properly and my E-brake will not work at all any more. He also did not reinstall the grille inserts or emblem. This was just a terrible experiance that did not have to happen. He did do a satisfactory job on the painting and bodywork but he failed terribly on the business side. I was going to take him some more work and even refer people to him. NOT ANYMORE.
