UNIQUE HARDWOOD FLOORS

Overall we are very happy with the work. Mario did an outstanding job with the floors and finished in the time frame he had told us. The price was a little more than we had wanted to spend, but the results were worth every penny! He is prompt, professional, and I would highly recommend him!

Mario refinished the hardwood floors in our 1936 house. He did a wonderful job. It took about a week to complete the job. He arrived on time everyday and cleaned up after himself. To make things easier and because of my allergies, we moved out of the house during the time the floors were being refinished. We have been so pleased. The floors are beautiful and feel wonderful. Mario was extremely personable and professional. Of all the contractors I called, he was the only one willing to come out to actually take a look at the floors and give me an estimate. The others wanted to give estimates but didn't want to come out and actually look at the floors to determine exactly how much work was involved.

Our dishwasher leaked and the water drained under our hardwood floors. Mario with Unique Hardwood Floors came in with an estimate and automatically included the 10% off labor Angie's List Discount. (I didn't have to prompt him or ask him; he just gave the discount.) The house is rented out and the renters had trouble scheduling him due to medical emergencies, and I forgot to call him back a few times. He was patient and understanding, far above and beyond what I would have expected. (This guy could be a preschool teacher--he's that patient.) Once we gave him the "go ahead" he completed the work efficiently and perfectly. He was polite and punctual. He did call me on the day of demolition to say the affected area was larger than he thought so he'd need more wood. This is completely understandable; no one would have been able to tell how far the water had gone under the floor. I gave him an "ok" to buy another box of wood.

We were so pleased with the work. We had all our bedrooms refinished, so we had cleaned out everything except the items on the closet shelves. Mario put plastic over all the items remaining to protect them from dust. The machine used has a very large vaccuum, so there was almost no dust left in the house. Instead of just filling obvious cracks and holes, Mario trowel filled the entire floor surface to make sure nothing was missed, and then sanded off the extra. He stained a small area in several different colors so that we could choose the exact color we wanted, and see how it looked on our wood. The floors were finished with the top coats. The entire process took about 3 1/2 days. Mario was truly courteous, and we felt no qualms about leaving him alone in our house. We are so pleased with the look of our floors!
