Amy Meier Design

I am remodeling a 1913 Historical Craftsman duplex in Hillcrest area.  I looked on her website and saw that I liked her style.  She offered a free consultation where she comes over and looks and gets my input and then comes back with sample boards and ideas which is not free.  I told her that I would be willing to pay her just to come over and give me ideas because I was preparing the place for rental and not furnishing it.  She came over and had great ideas.  Her paint color idea which I at first thought was too light was perfect.  She had a way of seeing what needed to be done.  She suggested subway tiles in the kitchen and bathroom only where they would be needed.  She was knowledgeable and so far what she has told me to do is making the place look great without a huge cost.  She has been available for a few followup questions, but recently has not returned my phone calls probably because she is having a baby. Overall very happy and will use her again if I can get a hold of her.

I did a lot of searching for an interior designer, reviewing many many many portfolios of pictures of completed projects.  Amy's was the only one I found that did not look like a "model home" for lack of a better description.  Her portfolio pictures were so good - they took my breath away.  

Amy is very sharp and a very skilled designer.  She is one of those that really has the keen ability to see what something can be and then put a plan together to bring it to life.  She is incredibly professional yet exceptionally personable -- nothing pretentious or fussy about her, her approach or her style, which I REALLY appreciate.  

While Amy is probably on the more pricey side of designers you will find out there -- the quality of her work is exceptional.  I would recommend her again and again.  

My experience from start to finish with Amy Meier Design was excellent. Amy and I worked together for several months decorating my house. Amy is efficient and extremely good at what she does. Amy was able to provide several creative solutions to obstacles I was facing in the decorative process. For example, in my kitchen Amy suggested that we hire a decorative painter to change the color of my cabinets instead of paying alot of money to purchase new ones. The cabinets and kitchen re-model looked so good that Women's Day magazine featured Amy's work in their August 2010 issue. If money is a concern, Amy Meier Design offers competitive pricing and will always respect your budget. In addition, Amy makes herself available for any questions or concerns you may have. She is very easy to get in touch with and if she can't speak to you the moment you call, she will provide a very prompt response. I can't say enough nice things about Amy Meier. I am so happy with the way my house looks and Amy is the one who made it happen.

Amy was fun, professional, and extremely helpful (not to mention extremely good with color). She worked within our budget and time frame and we could not be happier with her services.

Amy is an inspired designer. On time, on budget and on the mark. She understood my taste immediately and easily worked within our time line and budget. She's particularly talented in the areas of color theory, fabric and custom furniture design. She's also proficient in the nuts and bolts stuff, like floor plans, the intricacies of window treatments, and the pros and cons of every finish under the sun. She can do it all, and does it all well. She brought only top-notch artisans and craftsmen into our home. We are thrilled to live with the results of her creativity and hard work, and I wouldn't dream of picking a paint color without her guidance. We will definitely work with her again on the remaining floors.

We recently moved to the area and upon closing we were quickly overwhelmed by our new interior space. Amy listened to our needs and was able to quickly establish design concept and a budget. Amy brought in her team which allowed us to sit back and enjoy our life. The process was fun and the results were fantastic! Our new house is now a true reflection of us. We are definitely going to utilize Amy's expertise in our next phase, the second floor.

Amy was part of a design team of 2 that provided the entire interior design for a 4200 sqft home. The project was completed in 4 phases; the first 3 phases taking about 1 year. The final phase began in June 09 and was just completed in October 09. The final product is so spectacular and Amy was instrumental in her contributions to the project. Her key strengths include understanding space and what will work where, her choice of fabrics and the blending of styles and colors to create such inviting and soothing spaces. Her choices of accessories and art are so perfect and finish the rooms in a way I could not have done alone. I also appreciated her incredible responsiveness to me as a client and her enthusiam to see that the project was done well and on time. I would hire her again in a heartbeat!!
