Do not use these guys. If you read the reviews the last few years they have gone down hill. We started this project 03/2020. I had to request that they stop working on my project 05/2021. They made several submittals to the city of Rancho Cucamonga starting off with the wrong department, and every submittal has been marked incomplete and incorrect. The city has rejected each submittal. Before you even think of using this firm contact the California Architecture Board (CAB). There is a formal investigation into incompetence and violations from this firm. Over a year and close to $20K and i have nothing except an incomplete error filled job package that the city can not use. And now he wants another $16k to close the job. They can not even keep track of payments that have been made to their firm. Dale claims the project is 90% complete, what was submitted was 50% short of the requirements. If I were to pay the $16k I would be paying him more than the contracted price of a completed project. He has even threatened to put a lien on my property. Do your homework, read all of the reviews, contact me through yelp if you have an hour or two to hear of all the issues i have had with this guy. Contact the board. But Run, Run, Run away.

Through HomeAdvisor, I found and hired Dale to design an addition to my home. One of my main requirements was experience with San Diego building department. He said he had done many projects here but it became clear that he had never done any business in San Diego when we tried to go through the permitting process. During the lengthy design process the price doubled, some of the scope of work expanded but not enough to account for the fees. Dale was extremely difficult to work with once I signed a contract. I would send him detailed emails and phone messages and my requested changes were forgotten. His other team members were much better. I could go on for hours about my negative experience. I paid him around $20,000 for work I ultimately scrapped. I started over with a local architect - who's plans sailed through the permitting process for a third of what I paid Dale, yes one third! Be warned!

This Cummins provided service to our home expansion project back in 2012-2015. During the entire year of 2015 of the construction, Mr. Cummins had showed up on site only 10 times or so and each time only an hour or so. All other time project management was done over the phone through us. The foundation of the addition was way off leveled hence causing various problem in following work. During the entire summer time, the work was completely on hold for three months or so. However he charged very high and unreadable fee or commission from each part of work. He made over 60k in 2015 from our project alone with that little on site management. And after the work done, he hardly is responsive to our questions. I do not recommend this service. He is seriously of professional ethics. We did the actual project management for him.

I was contacted by Cummings within a day or two. They came to my home, looked at the job, and took pictures, I had the plans to review in a week or two, and they were submitted to the county. They even through in additional plans for a project we were thinking about doing. They will be overseeing the project, once the county approves it. Overall I am very happy with their work.

Cummins Architecture was great and easy to work with. Our project was completed on time without any problems. They knew exactly what we wanted.

It's great to have someone who is competent to drive our project as we do not have the time or expertise. Also, I did not want to have to chase down the work we ordered.

Easy to work with for non-traditional structure design

the total cost of the plans was suppose to be $5000 for a 450sq. ft. addition. When it came time for me to approve the final plans, he told me I needed to pay him another $900 ! I was never able to get a hold of him on the phone and He would never show up on time for our appointments. Plus he would take 5-6 weeks to make changes I requested on the plans. I could go on, and on, but I don't have much space left where I can write. I just gave up and decided not to build. Just beware of this guy.
