We went to the Home Show at the Pomona Fair Grounds and found 3 pool companies and got estimates for our project. All of the estimates were in the same ballpark. We were impressed with the PR guy for Anderson Pool (Pomona, CA). We checked the Better Business Bureau before we got started- no negative comments. We asked and were promised by Anderson Pool, to see other projects that they have completed....that never happened. The project started in March of 2006. As work progressed, so did the problems, starting with: dumping of concrete all over the yard-in our plants, on the grass, never in the same place twice. We had, had some trees removed recently and there was lots of dirt area to dump in, but they had to use the planters instead. Then they left 11- 20' pieces if rebar on the lawn. We had to move them ourselves so they wouldn't kill the grass (not that the grass survived all of the concrete dumping). We called several times to ask them to come and get the left over rebar. It took about 2 months before they finally took it away. Back to the project- during the demo, the dam wall between the pool and spa fell down. I am not blaming them for that, but after we paid more to have them rebuild it, the tiled it right away-before it had a chance to dry, so needless to say, the tiles started coming off, so they needed to be replaced. We called the owner and asked him to come over so that we could show him all of the things we were not happy with. In July 2006, he promised to empty the pool, sand the lumpy plaster, replace the tiles that were falling off, fill the sloppy expansion joints on the deck with some kind of joint compound-to hide the mess that they made, and pay $100.00 to refill the pool, but the work would not start until the Fall. They started draining the pool on 11/2/06 and started sanding on 11/3. We were not home when they did the sanding job, but we discovered later that they sanded the glaze off of some of the tile corners and there was a funny looking discolored patch on the bottom of the pool. They were refilling the pool before the tile work was done. When we called Mike to find out why they were refilling the pool, he said he would be over that evening, but never showed- he'd left town for the weekend. We frantically called other pool companies to find out if we should shut off the water and they said that the plaster may crack if it is left unfilled. By 11/28, we still heard nothing from the owner and the spa was starting to turn green because they had not put salt in the pool. The owner finally showed up on 12/8/06- we showed him the sloppy work that had been done and told him that we wanted some of our money back. He said he would have to talk to his partner and would get back to us in a week to ten days. That never happended. We found out from one of his employees that he didn't have a partner. The last time we corresponded with Anderson Pool was 3/16/07- with no satisfaction, we are left with the same sloppy expansion joints on the pool deck (he never came through with his promise to fill them), we never got our $100.00 to refill the pool, the tile needs to be redone on the dam wall. We are disgusted with the whole project and the lies. We will never get the satisfaction of having these wrongs made right but we do get satisfaction in knowing that we have had the chance to warn others....stay clear of Anderson Pool. PS.... did I mention, we ordered Caymen Blue/Green for the plaster? We got Caymen Blue--we like that too, but it wasn't what we ordered.
