Acoustical Ceilings

Overall, we were happy with the quality of the final product.  A few things that skew me away from contracting with this provider in the future are the following.  After prepping the house for removing the popcorn, Bob, the owner, left and said someone would be back in about an hour to finish the work.  Three hours later and a few unanswered calls to Bob, his crew finally returned.  During the hours we were waiting, as the house was completely taped up, there was nowhere really to sit, but on the floor, so my boyfriend and I spent those three hours sitting outside on lawn chairs.  Needless to say, not the most comfortable to do during summer.  Since the crew arrived late, they finished late, so it was a very long night for us, particularly since we were living in Long Beach at the time and headed there after the work was completed.  I think that to help make up for the lateness, the crew helped install some new ceiling fans we purchased, so we really appreciated that.  
After the service was completed, I noticed that we did not receive a receipt for the work completed- we just had the yellow copy of the services performed, with my signature, but nothing on the technician (if I remember the title correctly) line.  So, for tax purposes, I didn't have anything that showed that the service was completed, and the paperwork alone could be viewed as a quote I received.  So, I called Bob to ask for a receipt, he was surprised we didn't have one and said he would send one in the mail that same day.  I waited about 3 weeks/1 month to call him again since I didn't receive anything.  He apologized and said he forgot, but that he would drop it in the mail that day.  We are now in November and I haven't received anything.  It is frustrating that a simple request from our part couldn't be completed, despite a few phone calls to Bob.

Very good experience, on time, clean up great.  Got to work quickly and did  wonderful work.

The job was done quickly and looks great. This is the first time I have used them for drywall repair. I have used them in the past for removal of popcorn ceilings and refinishing of my ceilings and they did an excellent job of that also.

I had some trouble scheduling with Brad to give me an estimate.  He didn't seem to understand that I am a working woman and needed to schedule an appointment around my work meetings.  He was late to show up too. On the day of the work, two employees showed up.  They did a very nice job of wrapping everything in plastic -- my house was quickly transformed into a tunnel of plastic to prevent dust from spreading.  I thought that was very good. The work had to be done in two rooms, so each employee took a room.  One of the rooms turned out ok -- the texturing is a little sparse compared to the other walls in the room, but it more or less matches.  However it was applied too thickly, and the guy seemed put out that I asked him to sand it down. In the other room, however, the texturing doesn't match at all and it looks really sloppy.  At the time, I didn't notice it enough to be able to complain to Brad about it.  However, the more I look at it, the more annoyed I am at how bad it looks.  It doesn't help that any time a worker comes to do something at the house, they ask who did that awful texturing. What makes it worse in my mind is that Brad himself came to inspect the work at the end of the project and didn't say anything to his employees!  He acted like it was fine and happily collected my money.  A good owner would have pointed out that the work was unsatisfactory and made his employees redo it.

THEY DID GOOD WORK IN MATCHING THE TEXTURE IN THE CEILING. THEY WERE PUNCTUAL. THEY DID GOOD WORK. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL, THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THEY DIDN'T LEAVE A MESS.
