They did a great job. Les was prompt on providing an estimate via email and also very friendly over the phone and let me know I could save some money if I brought screen to them which I did. His daughter is very nice and knowledgable, I asked her about the different screen materials because I have a dog and a 2 year old. She showed me the pet screen and talked about it's durability. It was more expensive but I opted for it because it would pay for itself in the long run. Being that they were so very close to me I did it to them and they dropped it off at my house when they were done. The screen with pet screen looks great. When it's time for the other screen to be re-screened I'll take to them.

Warning: beware of this contractor The provider did not complete the installation to the manufactures specification. During the February rain storm in Sacramento, which is rare, water infiltrated the home through the bottom of the door at a regular flow rate. The provider called the manufacturer to review the installation procedures and realized they had not popped out the weep holes to allow the water entering the track to flow back out. The provider also reinstalled the door screen as it was crocked, like a shopping cart with a chipped wheel. In April, Sacramento received another round of rain. The rain infiltrated the home from the seams / trim pieces on the top inside of the door. The water flow was so steady, it pushed through the caulking and continued to enter the home throughout the entire rain storm. After 3 attempts to complete this project properly, I requested a refund from the provider so I could hire another provider to repair or replace the door. I have no confidence that the door was not damaged upon installation and the workmanship is evidently poor due to the water intrusion events. The provider was courteous and said he would refund the purchase price but was baffled by how this could have happened. The provider was not on site during the initial door installation so he could not know if his employees installed the door correctly or not. The employees who initially installed the door argued all day over how to accomplish the task. At times, they would shout at each other in disagreement. Needless to say, they didn't complete the install the first day (8 hours). They came back to finish the job a few days later. After a few emails back and forth this week, the provider decided he didn't want to refund the purchase price and he wanted to opportunity to try to fix the problem. He also said, if he did provide a partial refund, he wanted the Milgard door returned to him. I am in a tough spot here because the provider discarded my old door, incorrectly installed a new door and wants me to give it back after I pay some else to fix his poor workmanship, which may have damaged the door upon the initiall install. The provider used many reasons why the door could have sprung a leak such as, maybe a roof leak caused the problem or maybe there a stucco cracks that caused the problem. None of these excuses are true. No roof leaks and no stucco cracks are present. None of the excuses were poor workmanship which is likely the case here. The leaky door is still not fixed. I will have to hire a 3rd party expert to write a report on this situation in order to get a fair resolution. I have lost confidence in this provider. If you are looking to hire a contractor to do quality work, skip this one. I am going to have to file a report at the Contractor State License Board this week in order to preserve my rights to remedy as a homeowner. California law allows the "right to fix" but it doesn't say how many times the provider can try. If they lack the knowledge and skill to do the job, the homeowner is at great financial risk.
