Service originally involved replacing cables which was installed by National a year earlier. The second service involved replacing bearings, springs and drums in which I was charged $400+. The third service was to correct a problem with the door slamming h****** the floor on one side because it was not adjusted properly the previous time about a month previously and I was charged $95. A month and a half later I noticed the the newly installed cable was shredding again and called to complain to Kevin, the general manager of National. After numerous promises by a person named Percy to have Kevin call me back over a period of about 7 days, I figured this was not going to ever happen.
An appointment was made to have "Alex" from National come out and repair the door. He was to be there between 1 PM-4PM. He finally arrived at 5:30 PM. I showed him paperwork that clearly showed that the wrong parts ,which were lighter duty than the original, were installed by him on a previous visit and was causing the cables to shred. He simply refused to acknowledge this or even look at the paperwork and insisted that the problem was due to the fact that I had "an old door", "the building is settling", "the hardware is too light", "the bearings are too old". I disputed everything and pointed out to him that I had paid him to install new bearings "remember?"He made some adjustments to the door, replaced the shredded cable and wrote a statement on the receipt that he was not warrantying the door from shifting. I questioned him about this and he started off with some BS about how the adjustments he had to make might cause the door to shift and he wouldn't warrant it.
It's been 10 days now and Kevin, the gm at National still hasn't had the decency to call me back. I guess he really doesn't care. I would urge everyone to think long and hard about ever having this company do any repair work or purchasing anything from them. Their unscrupulous ways of doing business will catch up with them eventually and there are far too many other companies that are honest and competent to do business with. Folks, check out the other companies on Angie's list instead.

They were fabulous. They came out that day and the very next day, they had the door in. They were really quick, really efficient, and very reasonably priced. They actually were lower than some of the contractors then we had called. We just got a postcard from them just this last week to have them recheck and make sure everything is fine.

I called at 8 a.m. on 11/3 and Kevin advised me that Don would be out the same day between 12:30 and 2:30. He arrived at 2:00. The garage door opener is 18 years old and the manufacturer is out of business. Don showed me broken gears and stated that he could not get replacement parts. He installed a new opener and was done within an hour.. The Angie's List listing indicated that they offer Senior discounts. Don indicated to me that they do not offer these discounts, and haven't for about 5 years.

My electric garage door broke. It would not open. My car was stuck inside. I called my Home Warranty Company (Fidelity National Warranty) to request service. They identified the problem as a and quot;rushand quot;. And contacted a provider on their list. I told them I wanted I really good company, not some and quot;fly-by-nightand quot; outfit, and that I would be checking Angie's List for a good rating. FHW said I didn't have much choice because they were relaying the job as a and quot;rushand quot; so I had to take my chances. National Garage Door called me at 8:00am the following day to schedule. They said they'd come between 11:00am and 1:00pm. The Technician came at 12:30pm. He identified the problem immediately (it was physically obvious) and said it was due to wear and tear (age, metal fatigue). I asked if he could replace the other spring (they are a pair) because I figured the other one was the same age and in the same kind of poor shape, and I certainly didn't want to get stuck again! He quoted me a price, I called their office, we negotiated the final fee, and the Technician completed the work. He was neat, timely, informative, polite, cheerful. His name is and quot;Vitalyand quot; and although he looks very young (smile) he performed his job with much experience and confidence. The job took about 30 to 45 minutes. He even greased all the hinges, etc. and my 3rd door (manual) and recommended the proper garage door greaser for me to use in the future. I would defintely use the company again (obviously I hope not to have to) but would be happy to refer them. Although he didn't ask me to, I promised him that I would write a positive review, and he was very pleased!!

I received a postcard for an annual maintenance service and since having used this company before to make repairs we decided that it would be good to get our garage doors serviced. Service job seem to go well. However, the next day one of our garage doors came off it's track. Called to have them come out to fix this since the door had been working fine until they came out and performed the annual service. They said that nothing in their annual service work could have caused the issue and proceeded to tell me they were going to have to charge me $84 for the and quot;repairand quot;. Coincidence that the day after they perform the service my garage door has a problem? I think not. We will not be using this company again.

Kenvin, the owner, came out personally to see and bid the job. He is a very nice young man and very professional. He explained this has been a family business for many years. There was only one problem, that being an electrical wire pinched above one of the doors. The very next day after being notified, an installer was out correcting the problem. They also worked great with the scheduling of another contractor working on the job. We were very impressed and pleased with the whole process.

The estimator came on time. Did not have to wait like most companies. He provided us with and estimate for the 4 panel door. Was able to located a three panel door at no extra cost.
The installer arrived early and was very knowledgeable on the task to be done. He has a little trouble leveling the door because the setting of this old house. He did a great job and I get complements on the door from the neighbors.

They were prompt. The person who came out was able to repair it sufficiently, so that I could manage for the moment, but he told me that the hardware was no longer available for the door and that I probably would need to get another one even though it looks good. He seemed competent, but I need to look out for my best interest too. I would probably call someone else to verify that that indeed is the case because the door itself still looks good. In the meantime, I was doing some major work on my driveway, so I did not want to do both at the same time; I am going to wait till all of that gets done. They don't specialize in these doors. I would certainly return to them for a repair, but I would probably want to get other information about a new door. Overall, my experience with them was not topnotch, but it was good. As far as I know, he did what he could do. They were very prompt in coming out, but I felt that the work could have been done faster. I would use them again in the future for repairs.

I was pleasantly surprised when National called to tell me that the serviceman was coming within the half hour, an hour and a half before the scheduled time! The serviceman had to work in a tight spot due to my car being parked where it was and there was no complaining of the heat in the garage. I was able to pull my car out in order to make room for changing the spring and the work was done quickly. I was treated respectfully, the serviceman was friendly but did not waste a bunch of time talking, he got right to the job and finished in a timely manner. I would use National again, but hope I don't need to unless it's to install a new garage door opener!

I was very pleased with the whole experience. From the first phone call requesting service to the last handshake before the technician drove away, I was treated fairly, honestly, and with respect. The price was very competitive, and the work was done correctly. On top of fixing the garage door that was broken, the tech lubricated and checked the second door on my property. What more could I ask for? Highly recommended!!

Excellent experience. This was our second purchase of garage doors from the company. I would have appreciated it if the installer had cleaned his handprints from the opener units while he had a ladder there. I will use this company again without hestiation.

They were very good, and I liked them. They came fast and did the job. There was not much clean up to be done. They were courteous, punctual and quick, and got the job done. They have done work for me in the past, and I was always satisfied with their work. Their price was reasonable. I would recommend them and use them again in the future if necessary.

The company were able to schedule the repair the day after I called. They were here on time and did a great job. The installer was very professional. My five year old son was enthralled by the process and he took extra time to explain to him what he was doing and how the spring worked. The entire process took less that 30 minutes.

Alex arrived within the hour, told me what he was going to check, what the labor and replacement for the worn out whatever would be, and we discussed the cost of replacing it vs. repairing what I have. Before replacing the part, he showed me the differences in wear on the old thing vs.the new. He fixed it, took care of a few other things that he saw, but he said that was in the price of labor. It works. I'm happy.
