JMJ Natural Lighting

The JMJ Natural Lighting crew (two men) installed the two Solatubes. Due to their years of experience, they were professional, courteous and worked cleanly, efficiently and quickly, I am completely satisfied with the Solatubes and overall project, and plan to install a few more next year.

The two young men installers were on time. They helped me decide where the solar tubes should be placed and then got right to work. I was impressed with their efficiency and accuracy. I am thrilled with the results as there is now natural light diffused through the areas.

The JMJ crew showed up on schedule.  The crew chief spent some time with my wife and me, discussing what we wanted and the options for installing the Solatube.  His suggestions and recommendations were excellent and directed us toward a simpler and cheaper solution than we had been thinking of.   Options selected, they went right to work and got the new lighting installed in less than two hours.  We were pleased with the quality of the materials and installation and got exactly what we wanted. A 14" diameter Solatube really brings a lot of light into the kitchen -- even after several weeks, we keep looking to switch off the lights in the kitchen, only to be reminded that it's just the Solatube.  And after the storms of this weekend (March 5-6), we were pleased to see no trace of any water-leakage around the installation.

JMJ did an excellent job--they were on time, made a minimal amount of mess and cleaned up neatly, and finished in under 3 hours.  Our three dark rooms are now bright--no more flipping light switches every time we enter and exit these rooms!  We would definitely hire JMJ again.

I first saw JMJ at an Energy Expo at the local utility company. There was a Solatube in my previous residence in the Bay Area and I had wanted one for a dark stairwell in my current residence ever since I had moved in. So this Spring I finally went up to see JMJ's showroom to discuss their products and get an estimate, and I subsequently scheduled an installation.
From what I learned at the showroom, JMJ is very familiar with most of the housing developments in the area because of all the work they have done in the area, so they have a good idea as to which hardware is appropriate for the various roof styles, and therefore they can often give a fairly accurate estimate without making a field visit.
It was during that showroom visit that I decided that I also wanted a light kit installed with the tube (for night time use), and a more upscale dome fixture, rather than the standard flat diffuser, both of which added to the cost, but I'm very satisfied with the results.
Because I live in a condo association, I needed to get a field-estimate to show the Association before work began. So on the first visit, the two installers determined where the Solatube could be installed and which size would be appropriate. They also determined that the installation would require extra tubing due to the height of the attic space. After the Homeowners Association approved the proposed installation, the installers made a second visit and completed the job in about an hour or so. On both visits the installers showed up on time, went right to work, and removed anything left over from the installation work.
It's amazing how bright the stairwell is now during the day, and even the light kit is an improvement over the fixture that was there. Also, the upscale dome fixture looks a lot better than the standard Solatube diffuser.

I really appreciated that they were honest about where they couldn't put a solatube.

When I called for an estimate, I was given a verbal estimate over the phone (a little disconcerting) , bit my questions were answered to my satisfaction, so I scheduled the work done. On the scheduled date, the installer called a couple of hours before the appointment time, to see if they could start earlier. They arrived promptly, and we discussed the work, and whether the tube should be 10 or 14 inches. They felt 10 inches was more than adequate for the space, and proceeded with the installation. Within an hour, they had completed the installation, and cleaned up the area. The price was as quoted, and the solatube is just what I wanted! It's like someone turned the light on!

This was a very good experience. It started with my first phone call to JMJ Natural lighting. Shannon is the first person I talked to and she was very knowlegeble about thier product and answered a lot of the questions that I had. She set up an appointment for Brandon thier installer to come out and give me an estimate and answer any questions about the tube and placement on the ceiling and the warranty. Brandon arrived at our house on time and he had Damon with him who was also helpful in talking about the product . Both were extremely polite and answered all our concerrns about cutting into the roof. They new exactly what we were looking for in the placement. We set up an appointment for the work, and a few days later Brandon arrived to do the job. There was no mess, and was installed in a short time. It did exactly what they said it would do. We also added a diffusser lens, which Damon brought out to the house on his own time the next day, which was a really nice thing to do. We could not be happier. I highly recommend Brandon Damon, Shannon and JMJ Natural Lighting. They have a very good product and excellent customer service skills. Better yet they know what they are doing!!!!!! They were also up front on their pricing . NIce Job!!!!

Brandon's initial visit was very helpful to us. We originally expected to put a Solartube in a locaiton we didn't like that much, but Brandon pointed out we could combine the Solartube with a light fixture in the celiling, a real improvement for that room. Brandon later arrived on the agreed upon day and installed the three Solartubes without any significant mess in our house. He's quite personable and a skilled worker. It couldn't have gone better--the Solarbutes are real improvement in our house.

Damon arrived a little late but called to let me know that he would be late. Answered questions about overall lighting in installation rooms. Worked quickly. Did not make a big mess and cleaned up after himself.

The workers arrived on time and helped me decide on the exact location for the Solatubes. They covered the floor and furniture with drop-cloths to keep things clean, worked quickly and efficiently, and cleaned up when they were done. They were polite, helpful, and respectful. I asked about maybe installing a solar attic fan in the future, and they had one on the truck, so they showed me how it worked.

I called them, and they were able to come in 2 days. They arrived on time. They were pleasant and courteous. They explained in detail what they were doing and how that would work in my room. They recommended less than I had ordered, saving me quite a bit of money. They cleaned up after themselves and were very careful to cover furniture that could be affected. It took less than 2 hours for the work. I am very satisfied with the company.
