I got my vacuum cleaner fixed during the Corona Virus Shutdown. I called and he asked me to leave my vacuum outside the shop's front door and call him. He got the vacuum. I waited in my car. He cleaned the vacuum and replaced a belt. Very professional, kind and quick. I would go back again. $30 paid for work.

Way better than I expected, plus I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes. Would definitely go back there again. Thank goodness for Angie's list. I really did not know who I could trust to help me.

It went very well. The technician took a look at the serger, corrected a small problem, gave advice on proper threading and operation, and told us that there would be no charge. We were delighted. We plan to return whenever a sewing machine or serger needs work, and for supplies. (An different shop had told us to drop it off and that the basic charge would be $120.)

Michael is like the old-fashioned repairman - knowledgable, explains what he;s doing, so you'll know what to do if the problem arises again. He showed me how to fix it (tighten screws, adjust tension), cleaned up a rough spot on the plate, and even threw in a new needle, all at a very reasonable price!

Took vacuum in to shop. Young man opened the vacuum, confirmed the actuator arm and cable were fine, found flat belt stretched and V belt cracked so replaced both. Found HEPA filter dirty and replaced for $13. So three belts replaced for $24.35 and vacuum works perfectly.

Michael was great. I would absolutely recommend Cordova Sewing & Vacuum. It's very refreshing to find a company that does business in an old fashioned way. Michael operates with integrity and trust. I am very satisfied with the service I received.

good, satisfactory, and they were knowledgable.
Dan's Sewing and Vacuum repair on El Camino did not fix the problem , proper tension of stitches. Also  after I brought the machine home, the part of the machine that holds the material down, snapped, and could not be raised. When I brought it back, he said that I should just replace the sewing machine;  it would cost more than a hundred dollars to replace the part that was broken inside the machine. and he would not fix the tension for which I paid about $65.00. because it had been a while. I brought the machine to Rancho sewing machine. They adjusted the tension to an acceptable degree, opened the machine, tightened the screw and it worked.

I hadn't used my Alco sewing machine for at least 10 years and was going to sell it or donate it to a charity.  My daughter said she'll be glad to take it so I decided to have it cleaned and tuned up.  They completed my job earlier than originally promised.  I'm very happy with their service.

The old one I took in for repairs was too old and it needed to much done, which would not have been cost effective.

I walked into the shop.  Sewing machines & parts, vacuum cleaners & parts were everywhere!! Thanks to the Angie's reviews that I read, I ignored the 'mess' and remained to be served!  After a couple minutes a guy came out from the back because another customer was being helped 'up front.'  I explained what was happening with my up-right vacuum cleaner - the brush roller was no longer 'rolling.'   He started to ask further questions/look at the vacuum when the front man took over!  Within 15 minutes - 20 max - the vacuum had (1)  a new wide belt [the front man put a new belt within the perimeter of the worn belt to explain what the problem was .... worn belt was really stretched out] (2) new bearings on one side of the roller [it was explained that sometimes the bearings at the roller's end become non-functional due to an accumulation of dust/dirt/cat hair!! This contributed to the 'burn' smell that sometimes occurred.]   (3) a new HEPA filter  [the old filter hadn't been looked at in years and was very dark-gray/black from dirt; up-graded to HEPA due to allergies].  Once all items were replaced, the man tested the machine and it worked perfectly.      I wish I asked the man's name - he was very personable, knowledgeable, efficient and clearly experienced.  He charged little for labor - majority of my charge was the cost of parts.  I know timing is everything - I really lucked out considering that the man could look at and fix the machine right then and there - even though I was prepared to leave the vacuum to be fixed at their 'leisure.'

These guys are great. Had a problem getting a replacement part, which was not their fault, but they kept me regularly advised. When part finally arrived, they came to my house and installed it. Can't say enuf good things about this company. Real, old fashion service and professionalism that's hard to find today. Ironically, I had found them vis local phone book before I discovered that they were also on Angie's List.
Am pleased to recommend them.

This is a wonderful business--friendly, helpful and professional.  They repaired our vacuum cleaner on the spot without our having to leave it and then return at some later date to pick it up.  Although we live on the opposite side of the Sacramento metro area, we will definitely drive to Rancho Cordova again to have these people take care of our future service needs.

Excellent service, very professional, and seems to really know a lot about sewing machines and vacuum cleaners.  Michael was very helpful on the phone with my initial questions, then was also very helpful in the shop when I dropped off my machine and picked it up, and took time to answer my questions.  He was polite and courteous to the other customers who came in or called while I was there, so I'd say great customer service in general.  I tried out my machine at home and it's running a lot more smoothly, seems fine now, so far so good.  And I experimented with some of the new accessories (special presser feet, etc.) which worked fine.  I also asked about my Miele vacuum cleaner (it's having some power wand issues), and he told me what he suspects its problem is, so I plan to bring it into this shop for service at some point.  I'm happy with my experience and I do recommend Cordova Sewing & Vacuum.

I have a Kenmore Canister style vacuum circa about 1989.  It's been working pretty well considering I moved into where there is longer pile carpeting than for what I purchased the vacumm for originally.  It comes in 2 parts, the canister with a long hose that connects with attachments for handwork, dusting, etc. and also connects with the upright electric broom for carpet and floor vacumming.  I made the mistake of disconnecting the upright attachment from the hose that goes into the base canister, without first turning off the vacuum itself (cutting the electricity) and it blew the electrical connection in the hose and inside the handle.  In fact there was a complete meltdown of the assembly, so it would not work at all.  What I like most about Angie List A providers is that I've always experienced an excellent "customer service" attitude from them.  And I did in this case as well!  They were pleased to see my business, they focused on me as a customer, without taking phone calls in front of me, or hiding in the back room.  They figured out the problem, gave me a solid estimate, and an approximate repair date.  I picked up my vacuum when notified, and they again went over the repair, and I paid what was expected.
.
When I got home, I tried using the vacuum a couple of weeks later and it stopped working.  I figured maybe it was a loose connection, since the vacuum was already pretty old.  No problem.  I called, and they said to bring it in.  The shop is about 25 miles from my home, not especially convenient, but I really believe in supporting the Angie List A Providers!  When I arrived, there happened to be a different technician on duty (again, no problem) and I re-explained the issue, and he guessed that the repair really needed a whole different hose from top to bottom (and not just the handle connection replacement).  I am not exactly sure why this turned out to be a 2-step fix, but that's not a problem as long as in the end the result is success.  The important thing (in my mind regarding "customer service") is that they apologized for the inconvenience and supplied the new hose at no additional cost (for my trouble).  I think having the new hose meant that the electrical connections would be more stable.  The other nice thing is that they completely cleaned the vacuum and put in a new bag (with a little scent to it).
.
I would absolutely, definitely recommend this provider and agree they are worthy of their A List Rating.  In my case, it just happened that I live so far away, that it took more time and gas to get it all straight.  But I was grateful to be doing business with a store that cares about it's customers and that in the end, certainly had the expertise to fix everything.  It's been working great ever since. I am guessing the pricing was within appropriate range.  Because the other stores that I had visited for an estimate before this one, didn't even want to repair the machine.  They just wanted to sell me a new one.  So those stores I would definitely stay away from.  I am glad these folks are on Angie's List.  And thank them for a job well done!
