Dan's Sewing and Vacuum repair on El Camino did not fix the problem , proper tension of stitches. Also after I brought the machine home, the part of the machine that holds the material down, snapped, and could not be raised. When I brought it back, he said that I should just replace the sewing machine; it would cost more than a hundred dollars to replace the part that was broken inside the machine. and he would not fix the tension for which I paid about $65.00. because it had been a while. I brought the machine to Rancho sewing machine. They adjusted the tension to an acceptable degree, opened the machine, tightened the screw and it worked.
Am pleased to recommend them.

When I got home, I tried using the vacuum a couple of weeks later and it stopped working. I figured maybe it was a loose connection, since the vacuum was already pretty old. No problem. I called, and they said to bring it in. The shop is about 25 miles from my home, not especially convenient, but I really believe in supporting the Angie List A Providers! When I arrived, there happened to be a different technician on duty (again, no problem) and I re-explained the issue, and he guessed that the repair really needed a whole different hose from top to bottom (and not just the handle connection replacement). I am not exactly sure why this turned out to be a 2-step fix, but that's not a problem as long as in the end the result is success. The important thing (in my mind regarding "customer service") is that they apologized for the inconvenience and supplied the new hose at no additional cost (for my trouble). I think having the new hose meant that the electrical connections would be more stable. The other nice thing is that they completely cleaned the vacuum and put in a new bag (with a little scent to it).

I would absolutely, definitely recommend this provider and agree they are worthy of their A List Rating. In my case, it just happened that I live so far away, that it took more time and gas to get it all straight. But I was grateful to be doing business with a store that cares about it's customers and that in the end, certainly had the expertise to fix everything. It's been working great ever since. I am guessing the pricing was within appropriate range. Because the other stores that I had visited for an estimate before this one, didn't even want to repair the machine. They just wanted to sell me a new one. So those stores I would definitely stay away from. I am glad these folks are on Angie's List. And thank them for a job well done!
