Scott L Smith Professional Painting

TEN STARS!! I wanted my single story house repainted, and selected Scott Smith based on his excellent Angie's List rating, competitive price quote, and his friendly and knowledgeable demeanor when he presented his proposal. My house needed significant woodwork repair, and Scott recommended PRO-CON, a licensed Class B contractor which did an excellent job (see separate review). After the repairs were completed, I scheduled Scott to start painting on a Tuesday, which was completed by Friday (I let Scott determine the schedule). Scott and his assistants Ely and Mike always arrived early and cleaned up the property daily before leaving. Scott has 40+ years experience painting and did a perfect job. He takes pride in his work and has great attention to detail, and I could not find anything that needed correction after our final walkaround inspection. I highly recommend Scott Smith (SLS Painting) for any painting job.

Scott and his crew did a great job. They showed up on time and completed the work on schedule. The worksite was cleaned up daily. Price might have been a bit high but the service was outstanding.

Scott painted the exterior of my home several years ago and I was very happy, so I hired him to do my interior after a kitchen and bath renovation. Scott and his crew did a great job--he said it would take three days and they were in and out within that time frame. They arrived everyday on time, and I really appreciated Scott's advice on paint color and answering all my questions and concerns. Scott is really down to earth, very conscientious and and I was thrilled with the job.

Scott and his team did a very nice job--quick, clean, and professional. And he offered helpful suggestions about how specific colors would work in a given space.

Scott was easy to work with and did quality work. Would definitely hire him again.

He did a good job. I was pleased with that. I let him know that I do anticipate doing the entire house here very soon, so my guess is I will have him come back and bid on the project once we reach that point. The service was about $400, it was just 2 doorways. We negotiated the cost ahead of time, so I knew what it would be and he maintained that price. He was pretty booked in trying to get everything done, he had a lot going on and he was able to work the schedule. So, I was very happy with that. I definitely will discuss the project and if it looks like he is responsive in cost and availability, I will probably use him. I will be looking into getting a number of bids on it. It was a pretty basically job, refinishing 2 doorways and it was very well done.

We purchased an Angie's list deal for a painter for a day.  Scott was very responsive and came out to the house to take a look at the job before our scheduled date. He recommended the type and amount of paint we should purchase.  On our scheduled date of service, he was on time and worked all day.  He removed the blinds before painting and reinstalled them when he was finished. The rooms looked great.  We will use Scott again when we paint the exterior of the house.

Scott and his painter arrived promptly at the time established. They worked efficiently and without noisy distractions. The room is beautiful. Excellent work!

After viewing the property and understanding our needs, Scott proposed to save us significant money by doing a "freshening up" rather than a complete repainting job. He was able to paint the areas where needed in such a way that they matched adjacent original wall. Moreover, he was able to meet my short time schedule for completion. Scott and his crew of 2 others were pleasant to work with and they left the job site very clean, not to mention tremendously more attractive. I am very pleased with their work.

He did a great job.  He was punctual, good at communicating, and competitively priced.  I'd use him again in a heartbeat.

We hired Scott off an Angies List Deal of the Day - plus there was an additional $5 off coupon. He was quick to respond, friendly and professional. He wanted to meet right away because of the recent rains he had a lull in his schedule. He met with my husband and I on a Saturday morning. He was prompt and courteous. We had painted our master bedroom a dark chocolate brown a few years ago, and while still a pretty color, it just made our room too dark. We also don't have an overly large MB so the dark color really made the room feel small. We had been discussing when we wanted to repaint but neither of us had the desire or motivation to paint it ourselves. 
When this deal came along, and I read the reviews for Scott, I decided to go ahead and try his services out. At first when we explained what we wanted to do, he didn't have a problem painting the room itself, but was adamant he couldn't move our furniture on his own. He explained he really didn't have other painters who worked for him except one or two other guys possibly. We have hardwood floors so I thought he could simply push everything into the middle of the room and then move it back. When he explained he couldn't do that I was a bit put off (came across a bit gruff), but my husband said we could move the nightstands, etc out into the dining room and we would move the dresser & bed around ourselves. No big deal. We planned on Monday to have him come out since he had an opening due to the rain.
He showed up promptly - if not a few minutes early - and got to work right away. We had gone to Lowes that Saturday and bought the new paint color and we bought an extra gallon just in case since the wall color was so dark. Scott was friendly, professional and got to work right away taping stuff off, getting out his fans, covering our floor, etc. Outside of checking progress from time to time I left him alone. He took a lunch break and then went right back to work. Scott did a great job in painting our entire room including the door trim to our closets. He cleaned up everything and just advised not hanging anything on the walls until the next day. We were very pleased with his work and it was a great A.L. deal that saved us the headache of doing it ourselves. Now our MB feels and looks brighter and larger. Very happy.

Did a good job, as well explained everything. Bonus, he's a nice guy and was good with my little dogs. :)

The painter was very professional and friendly.  He promptly went to work and completed the job quickly.   I was very happy with the results.

Everything worked out very well.  The quality of work was excellent.  They had great scheduling and availability as well.

This man boasted that he was the owner,so we were getting the pro himself. The guy was a very sloppy painter, and he spread his stuff everywhere leaving no walkway anywhere. He was extremely slow, cursed a lot and talked on his cell phone much of his 8 hours of work. This was not a deal - even at $199.00 for 8 hours !! I wouldn't recommend him.
