Protection 1 San Diego

I was paying them and they were not monitoring our house for probably a year and half and they blamed me for that.  They said it was because I switched my telephone service.  They said that they didn’t have a connection because it was cable.  I called another company and said does that matter?  They said no, it has nothing to do with it.  I stopped paying the bills and then they started saying that I owed them extra money.  I said you are not even monitoring me, I am not paying you anymore, and I cancel it right now.  Then they said well, you are going to owe late fees and extra services and all the stuff.  I said I’m not paying you a dime.  Then they finally said, if you stay with us we will waive your late fee and I was surprised by that.

Called several companies. Ultimately decided to go with Protection 1. They had installed system in home 20 years ago and were willing to modify it with wireless components as well. Sales person was very professional and answered all my questions. Installer arrived on time and took the time to verify the order before beginning work. Work was completed as promised. System has worked as advertised.

I don't have any complaints with this company I'm considering changing to a cheaper home

Overall, the experience has been great. When we have any issues, they've been responsive. They've been good to work with and we haven't had any problems.

They were very good because I trusted them. I liked them because I felt like they were telling me the truth. They got everything protected in a way that made sense. They did have to come out twice, it didn't work quite right the first time. The guy in charge came out the next day and made it work right. They weren't the least or most expensive,

Overall the service has been fine but their prices have really skyrocketed while there are a lot of much cheaper companies out there.

Bought a home with Protection One system already installed, called Protection One and scheduled someone to come out on 8/21/10 (Saturday!). Met with Neta Bradley who spent so much time with us, explained the system, signed us up and scheduled the installer to come out the following week. Installer came out, added smoke detector and called main office to have me provide cell phone number to get notification of alarm being armed and disarmed. GREAT SERVICE! It was an enjoyable experience and we are very happy with the system.

I think that they are good. I haven't had any real experience with them because I haven't had any emergencies. I can say that the little experience I have had with them has been ok and I have no complaints about them.

My system is terminal already, because it's ten years old, but luckily it's still working properly and doesn't need a replacement. I like the company because they are responsive and their prices are competitive, even though I have no idea how much we pay because my husband pays for it.

Installer was prompt and very helpful in answering all of my questions and concerns. He was polite and cleaned up after himself.

THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE EMPLOYEES ARE ALWAYS VERY NICE. THEY ARE QUICK TO RESPOND WHEN MY ALARM GOES OFF. WE HAVE HAD THEM FOR 7 YEARS AND ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE.

INSTALLATION WAS GOOD AND TECHNICIAN WAS PROFESSIONAL. COMPLETED THE JOB IN ONE DAY, TOUGH WORK GETTING INTO CRAWL SPACES AND HEAT OF ATTIC. CLEANED UP AFTER JOB. NEGATIVE WAS EXPENSIVE MONTHLY FEES THAT DID NOT GO DOWN AFTER SYSTEM WAS AMORTIZED.
