Brought our older PC in for repair because of what I assumed to be a failed power supply.  Joey tested it immediately, right in front of us. It was defective, and he had a replacement right on the shelf.  We could have had the repair completed then, for less than $100.00 and one-half hour total time.  However, this PC had been troublesome for a few years because of a virus, which I couldn't completely eliminate.  So we had him keep the PC for a day and clean up the software. It now works fine.  He is very effective and experienced and his services are fairly-priced.  Highly recommended.

My 10 year old PC had frequently become frozen with a blue screen, so years ago, I copied the original hard drive onto a larger hard drive, placed both in the computer and deleted programs from the main drive that could have been corrupting the system. Recently it would access the internet only in the safe mode. I discovered that every single review of nearby Protec Computers was highly positive, so I took my PC there. The charges for common procedures are clearly displayed. It took only a few minutes for the Joey to determine the basic problem. Despite virus protection, many programs were corrupted. The computer was fixed the same day.
He had electronically cleaned both hard drives, and physically cleaned the interior of the box so it sparkled like new. The PC now functions like new. This was an excellent experience.

Troubleshot inoperative PC for free. Replaced failed part and tested for other common issues. Friendly, prompt service. $25 labor and $60 part out the door. PC now works great.

Joey is phenomenal. Provided a free estimate to recover valuable family photos and music from corrupted 1 TB Western Digital external hard drive. Spent an entire week recovering all the data and transferring it to a new 1 TB hard drive. If he is unsuccessful in recovering your data, he will not charge for his time. Money well spent. I was so impressed that I brought him my laptop to repair. Very pleasant experience.

I wanted a second opinion so I took it to ProTect and Joey Wu. Without telling Joey that I had a previous diagnosis, Joey came to the same conclusion. But the difference was that Joey offered several different options beyond those suggested by the first computer repair business.The option I selected was to have Joey configure the video driver so as to reduce the monitor resolution and make the monitor video and the laptop much more usable. He did this all for $29.I was impressed with Joey's knowledge of computer hardware and software. In a previous life he was a programmer. It a previous life myself I was an engineer that worked with many hardware and software design engineers. Joey strikes me as a very capable, competent engineer, knowledgeable about what makes computers tick and how to fix them be it either hardware or software.I will not hesitate going to ProTect with future problems we may have with our PCs or MACs.
