real estate appraisal
 + -1 moreThe appraiser showed up two days after the appointed time. He was dressed very unprofessionally and was indignant and rude when he discovered that the dwelling was currently occupied. The appraisal he wrote also had glaring inaccuracies. He used poorly chosen comps (one was 10 yrs old!) and he did not do the adjustments correctly. Some examples: -- he compared the home to another one with 1 fewer bedroom and didn't adjust for it at all -- he didn't adjust for the fact that the home had a brand new roof, HVAC, and carpeting throughout. When my realtor called to ask him questions about his appraisal, he refused to take her call. When she called his firm, they told her that "[we don't answer to you...we answer to the bank...so we'll only answer their questions]." All in all, a *VERY* unpleasant experience with this company.
